Hi there Smiley

Does anyone knows a country were you legally do not have to pay taxes on profits through bitcoin daytrading?

If not, a country were tax is lower than 10% ?

edit:
every article I find about "taxes" is mostly about VAT...

I'm really not sure how taxes work but I live in Algeria and If take the exchange fees out of the equation, I pay nothing else. I have to tell you though, in my country, most people don't know what PayPal even is so It's even worst when It comes to bitcoin.

i do no think that still there is any tax on bitcoin any where. i think it will still take a lot of time when first the government will accept bitcoin and then they will put tax on it. therefore i do not think that there can be tax on bitcoin before accepting it as legal currency.

may be there is tax on bitcoin in some area. but not everywhere. in fact i my self do not know about the country where they do not have accepted bitcoin and still they have imposed tax on bitcoin. may be in future we can expect tax on bitcoin when government will accept bitcoin.

thank you for answers so far Smiley

Just to clarify, I think "tax on bitcoin"  and "tax on bitcoin profits" are two different things. Otherweise I can not understand how so many people are writing that there would be no tax on bitcoin.

As far as I know in most US and most EU countries you have to pay taxes to profits you made with bitcoin. Some are charging capital gains tax, and others add the profit to your income (private sale business) and let you pay income tax.

I also heard Denmark is not charging taxes on bitcoin trading profits.

Pakistan, Iran and Iraq do not charged taxa on bitcoin trading. Though there are many other countries that did not charged taxation on bitcoin, forex and others crypto currencies! I am of the opinion that bitcoin should not be treated as a property because treating as a property will undermined it value as a currencies. You can not tax dollars therefore bitcoin should not be tax too.

Yeah any off the countries on the Trump travel ban list...... but there you will also need a big gun to defend everything you own....

I jest, i would have thought that all countries in the world have some sort of income tax, otherwise how do the pay for basic government spending?

i would also guess that if there are countries with no income tax then you would prob need to be a billionaire to live there.

On my country there are not tax on bitcoin and there are not tax on bitcoin profit,
but just there are fees transaction on the market,
I don't know if the fees of transaction be used for pay taxes on the government
because they have place for trading bitcoin.
As a trader I don't pay the tax on bitcoin or tax bitcoin profit, just pay fees transaction only.

yes that is right we also have have the same situation. we are not paying tax on bitcoin. But we are paying tax on bitcoin when we are transacting our bitcoin and then withdrawal the amount. i think the governments will start collecting bitcoins when the governments will consider bitcoin as legal currency and then they will put tax on bitcoin.

Hey, in case you are based in the United States then you might be interested in the application we are developing. It's called Swapper and it will be the first blockchain-based qualified intermediary for legally deferring capital tax gains on your cryptocurrency investments. In essence it is a simple app for carrying out 1031 IRS like-kind exchanges to protect your crypto profits by deferring taxes through a registered qualified intermediary. It will also create a record of every transaction on its blockchain that you can then use for filing and accounting. We will be announcing the project on this forum soon, but until now you can read more about it here: https://swapper.io
