Following the link that I got in the mail 2 days ago, immediately after filling out the account claiming form:

Mt.Gox Account recovery service
Account recovery request submitted at 2011-06-21 15:12:56 GMT.

Your account recovery request has been accepted.

You will be able to access your Mt.Gox account once the site opens again.

This has just been updated a few minutes ago. I hope everything works as expected and I can log in with the new password I have chosen.

I submitted my claim even before they posted an announcement about the claim site being up, I had a really strong password, and I still haven't heard back.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.

I was probably one of the first to claim an account, the link hadn't even officially been published and my password was 18 characters including some numbers ...

Well,  suppose it remains to be seen how many people submitted a request between 15:12 and 17:49 Sad

My password was 10 characters, mixed case alphanumeric random generated, which cryptographically is pretty strong, but their system seems to have gone overboard and doesn't seem to accept anything below like 12 characters with special characters and alphanumeric as strong, so we'll see.

submitted some "additional verification" information also just in case. Hopefully that pays off.

I just got this back from Mt Gox Support

Hello,

Before 3:00 GMT on Friday June 24th you will receive an email from us advising that either

A) Your claim was successful and you can login to Mt.Gox once the site is up.

or,

B) We require more information to process and authorize your claim.

We appreciate your continued patience as we work to get everything back online.

Thanks,

MtGox.com Team

Never mind, doesn't matter ...

Mt. Gox isn't going to re-open at 3:00 GMT.
Just as I expected, they couldn't handle all those manual account verifications.

But it's very professional that they let us know that they can't handle it 21 minutes BEFORE the planned re-opening of the site  Roll Eyes

WTF??? my claim has been rejected and my password was 19 characters long and a strong nice mix of alfanumeric and symbols

I also provided some extra info but not much since they said that this was only necessary if we felt our passwords were not strong enough

so now, will I only have access to the market way after everyone else? I'm pissed off, the instructions were unclear and misleading

I don't think the password is the issue, it's the proof. I think they may have learnt their English by texting and playing games. Either that, or they are Brits, who are renowned for having a poor command of their mother tongue. Sorry, just having a dig at my own countrymen/women, lol

Mine got rejected, but I gave the wrong info for the bank name, do'h

I hope they don't want any more than that, otherwise I am stuffed. Me know nowt ! lol

I noticed that a withdrawal I made about the time of the hacker attack, has not come through to my bank account Sad

Was rejected the first time, and then I resubmitted with an estimate of my last balance.  They approved me right away.  I think tonight is the night we can trade again.

Only indication of when it will be open is:

Quote
[Update June 24 - 02:39 GMT] Postponing the Relaunch 24 hours.
We're seeing that the amount of claims that need review is much higher than what we had anticipated, and consequently it is taking us considerably more time to process the claims.

And of course, that won't include trading.  Actually, with the trading volumes being lower over the weekends, this weekend may be a nice time to open for trades in the hope that there will be some stability and fewer speculators online.
