[Update June 24 - 02:56 GMT] Pushing until 15:00 GMT.

We have found that balances on some older accounts look significantly incorrect when compared with the old database. At this time we do not know what caused the balances to be off, or how many of the older accounts are affected. We haven't touched the old backend or database, so we're going to import the accounts again once we have found what caused the off-balances.

No money is lost, we still have the records of all transactions that happened prior to the bitcoin sell-off. All funds deposited are still in our bank accounts, and we're going to try and get this resolved by 15:00 GMT.

We look forward to getting everyone trading within an hour of getting users logged in and accessing their accounts.

Better than nothing dude, seriously.

Think of the opportunity once the market opens. There may be a price drop we all can profit from.

While the delays are frustrating, they are just trying to get it absolutely right before reopening.  I still trust MtGox.

My issue isn't really with the time to get it back up... it's that they keep saying they're delaying it.  Why not just say we'll open in a week, and then open 3 days later and look like heroes?

That's horrible. If they say it's up in a week, I won't come back for a week. If it's up in 3 days, I just missed out on the "great exit" that will occur in the first hours. It is better for them and us to keep pushing it back every day.

Be humble!

I agree.  People are arranging the life around their deadlines.  So just say a week, and then even if you get done sooner, you will just have more time to test your system.

They'll just keep doing the half again rule. 1 day delay, followed by a 12 hour delay, followed by a 6 hour delay and so on.  Technically you can do that forever Wink

I am now able to log into MtGox and see my current balances, login history,  and transaction history. (The claim status site, not the regular site.) My balances are correct. (They are low, but correct.)

My account recovery was accepted, but the claim status page to check account balance shows incorrect pass. it's definately correct as it's from keepass and backed up elsewhere  Undecided

MT.Gox has been a total joke during this incident, I have until tonight to pay my rent, I've been delaying my landlord everytime I see an 'updated' time on the status page, only for it to change later, he thinks I'm taking the piss. Understand things can take time but i would have preferred them just saying it's going to be one week rather than posting deadlines they are not competent enough to meet

Well, until the forum chokes because even a cluster of SSDs can't keep up with the interval between posts being measured in fewer than a hundred picoseconds. Smiley

I cannot be so sure myself - but I am still the failure is annoying.  Maybe they do that to selected accounts.
