Question is little bit ambiguous. Still what I understand is about ETH, if it so then it is not that best option than bitcoin but still they are somehow better than all other coins. I read it somewhere that ETH are at second place after bitcoins.

Still, better is to convert to bitcoins rather than simply holding eth as compared to bitcoins, I am sure eth may not have bright futures.

My friend, be patient because what happen right now are just the adjustment since there are many special cases which affect bitcoin value. However time to time it fluctuates, consider  where did bitcoin starts and until now , how far is this things soar up,  The same thing follow at the present. You probably bought near the top of the bubble, there are only tow things you can do if you want to recover your money, the easiest one is to hold eventually you are going to recover your money if you wait long enough but you need patience, the second way is doing what you are thinking, invest in icos, but at this moment the ico market is weak thanks to China ban on icos.

Think about people who bought Bitcoin for $1,000 and then it crashed down to $200. Many of them probably thought they lost everything (just like OP), but in just a few years they have now multiplied their money by 4.5x. This is the power of HODLING!

Ethereum is the second most capitalized coin after Bitcoin, so it is a good competition for Bitcoin and so at times like this when Bitcoin would be facing some fundamental issues, I think holding your Ether would be well wort it. If I may, what approach or method did you use in turning $260 to 50 Ether?

don't worry about a thing we all know that price will recover soon and im expecting it before this year end. Ihave also an ETH besides bitcoin and I could say that ETH is one of the most good altcoin out there. Don't invest when the price is having a hard times we all know that after the panic selling the price really went down under $3000 so don't worry the price will go bubble again soon.

Oh yes eth is the top 2 crypto, it's next to bitcoin but eth has a really great potential for holding it for long term.
Like bitcoin it has a huge community support and good coin circulation  and we see a lot of coins that are in ethereum platform. In short it can be trusted, so OP you can hold your eth for long term or diversify it to some other coins like bitcoin and waves. I know you already have trust issues with coin because of your lose but trusting and believing with our coins is the least that we can do.

Current price of ethereum is $285, so you have passed the initial price when you bought it in the first place.
Whenever dip happens, do not sell your coins, because it's a loss, right? That's why you should planned and be able to hold it for long term, at leas 2-3 month. Invest in ICO is a good thing as well, but make sure to be picky about the best project around.

lol, as he mentioned in the first page, he bought each ETH for 260 dollars not 260 dollars for 50 ethereum and he's now happen to lost money because of the price dumping toward bitcoin and ethereum aswell.
holding eth is the best way, after hardfork im pretty sure that the price will skyrocketing, it's mainly because of PoS so, keep on HODLing.

Why do you think that POS will lead to the increase in the price of ETH? The whales will reduce the price in order to buy coins. Then it is not known how the market will react to such innovations. Personally I don't trust ETH. I mined a few coins and exchanged them for bitcoin. Now I won't be able to do so for fine Ethereum will cease to exist.

For me I think it would be in the best interest to stayon where you are and fold in a sense to cut yourlosses and it would be very helpful also if in the next time you study and you try to invest in more fruitful ventures so that this scenario might be avoided.

For me I think it would be in the best interest to stayon where you are and fold in a sense to cut yourlosses and it would be very helpful also if in the next time you study and you try to invest in more fruitful ventures so that this scenario might be avoided.

   It is hard to understand Koton, if he thinks that you should hold your ethereum coins I agree with him. It is
not good time for selling any coin cause of drama about bitcoin, all prices are dropping in past few months.
   I am watching what is happening, and since beginning of this year price of bitcoin started to rise and many
alt-coins followed that trend. In past month rumors from China shake entire crypto-currency market and prices
dropped. Market will recover like other members are saying.
   ICO`s are not bad things, personally I invested in couple casino ICO`s and I will see how much I was right
about their future. There are other good ICO`s that offers more technological innovations, that is not my field
and I can not speak much about it, I am doing some researching and probably I will invest in more new coins.

If you have 50 ethereum in your wallet and if you bought 260 dollars each. You cant lose money why? Because the price of ethereum as of now is 300 dollars and you earn profit not lose your money. You are missing the point ETH may be at 300 dollars, but the price in dollars is not important because it is very likely that he bought that ETH with BTC and ETH has been crashing in terms of bitcoin since bitcoin outpaced ETH growth after the hard fork so if the op converts to BTC now he will lose a lot of money in terms of BTC, he needs to hold in the hope ETH goes up once again, that may be possible but it is going to take a lot of time.

Its your choice and you do have the decision if you can able to take the risk on joining ICO but in my point I wont join as of the current state on where News is everywhere specially on ICO banning we cant really assure if those ETH we do have would able to recover or would lose even more.If you are on hesitation or doesn't sure on joining ICO then its better to hold off your eth than to possibly waste those amounts even more.

It is true that is risky in joining in different ICO because some of the ICO's today are now scam. The real reason why ICO is created because all of the developers and creators want to become rich.

It is better to just keep your eth, the price will go up again, now there are so many project that used eth, so don't be afraid that the price can become zero, but the rising is not as fast as Bitcoin, if you decide to join ICO then really make sure you know what you buy, ICO got a greater risk than holding eth
