What do you do with ETH ? You buy to hold or to invest in alt coins ?

Investors usually buy altcoins with Bitcoin, not Ethereum. If you mean ICOs, Whenever I want to invest in an ICO which I am supposed to receive an Ethereum based token, I buy Ethereum to invest in that. I also hold some Ethereums as a long term investment.

I hold bitcoin and buy ETH only when I need to participate in some ICO. Also, I don't see anything wrong in holding ETH right now - especially having those promising hardforks coming up. Is there going to be a ethereum hard fork soon? |

I hold bitcoin and buy ETH only when I need to participate in some ICO. Also, I don't see anything wrong in holding ETH right now - especially having those promising hardforks coming up. Is there going to be a ethereum hard fork soon? Yes, at the end of the month and everything seems to be on track. They even updated geth couple of days back to be compatible with the hard fork. |

The purpose of Ethereum is to serve as a base currency for all of the token out there.
It really is a genius concept when you think more about it. Not only do all the individual investors and users want it to succeed, but all of the companies who use it for tokens for their business also. that is what makes it so amazing, how it is so valuable to so many people helps it to never fail.

Personally I only have a few eth to hold for the future and then I purchase more if i ever want to invest in any ICOs. I do all my trading btc-altcoins.

ETH is a very special coin, I bought bitcoin and I bought ETH to hold on for some time until the price went up, and I also bought some coin in altcoin to trade and for my daily activities to gain the advantage of my passion.

I usually do not trade with ETH and I will keep ETH for a few years as ETH is a potential market and certainly in the future many new technologies in this platform will emerge, if that's sure to happen will be very high prices.

Ethereum is a good coin and it definitely has a great technology but people are out there who think it is just used as a base currency for creating tokens. Ethereum can be used as a source for creating a new coin but it has better purposes.
I use it for trading time to time and knowing that the upcoming fork is going to benefit Ethereum holders will be a good deal to start converting our money to ETH to receive an extra bonus.

I would advice to invest your eth into some new projects rather than hold it. Buying eth now would be the riskiest option of all, for some changes are ought to be performed on this platform for it to work properly in the future. I believe there's a risk of hard fork and thus it is best to sell your eth now and buy it again some other time if everything goes okay and eth becomes a pos coin. Maybe, trying to invest in some good ICO is a nice option nowadays. Just try to make sure it is not a scam and it has good PR-campaign. |

If long term invest i will hold bitcoin. But if invest the ico i suggest use eth will easy and fast. Something ico just receive eth in erc20 token.

I hodl the majority of my ETH! A small portion in altcoins and contributions to a limited number of ICO's.
No point throwing too much of it away. The real thing to do with ETH is stake it! (with PoS around the corner)

i buy ETH to dump it when it is pumped! there is no other reason for it  so far i have been doing just that, there have been a couple of very good pumps which i join 3 of them from the start and more of them in the middle of the pump and got out my profit after the pump was done and before the dumping began. of course you can also use ETH to invest in ICOs but i am not a fan of that kind of investment so i have never done it. i prefer the normal way of making profit. |

Holding is best option out there,it is second best volume currency and has good blockchain to support its network.now majority of startup company are taking ico route and choosing eth blockchain for its investment source.the price will pump good in nearby future.

Mostly, i like to hold by ethereum as i believe that ethereum can show good amount of growth in future. I believe that ethereum will cross the 600$ mark by end of this year.
Sometimes I like to invest in some projects that appear promising to me.

better to look at it as a good investment to hold together with btc as its been use to buy token for another coins that will be using this platform,
its also a good investment to be hold as well, the value will go up to 1k$ sooner as many plan project will be implemented and as mention many
new project will use smart contracts.

Usually like most people I will hold bitcoin and invest in some Ethereum ofcourse when I need to buy some ERC tokens or tokens based on Ethereum network, that is ofcourse because I cant do it with bitcoin, for long term I dont hold Ethereum but stick mainly to bitcoin, I think most of the people do that just because bitcoin is accepted on every exchange and is THE dollar of digital money, on long term though I think Ethereum will be more user friendly and better system, they have great things coming at the end of this month too.

I prefer to do both of them. Ethereum has future, nearby the bitcoin, i hold just a few altcoins for long term.
Ethereum is the first choice for me in altcoins.
On the other hand, it mostly useful to invest in ICOs.

Usually people buy ethereum is for investing on another altcoin nor new coins with participate on their ICOs that accept ethereum as payment. By participate on ICOs, people earn profit easily and don't need to wait till ethereum price rise up.
