So what's up with MiiCard verification option?

It is on our development list but we do not have an ETA at the present time.

CAVIRTEX is Canada's #1 Bitcoin exchange with over 90 million CAD traded in our 3 years of operations. Visit https://www.cavirtex.com.

Is this you guys?

http://virtex.com/

This website has absolutely nothing do with us. The domain was purchased in February by an SEO marketer in Eastern Europe.

I imagine you can draw your own conclusions as to why he picked a name that has been closely associated with CaVirtex.com, Canada's oldest and largest Bitcoin exchange.

Good to know. Thanks. Smiley

Fascinating! I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to do the survey, I would have helped with that gender problem by adding another female into the mix. Smiley

I finally got my DCBank Prepaid Debit card and have a few questions.

When I log into directcash.net do they charge me a fee everytime I check my balance? On the forms it says there is a balance inquiry fee of $1.50 or so.

Also how much are fees charged exactly when I withdraw the money from an ATM? Because since there are no DCBANK branches, there is a DCBank withdraw fee and also another ATM withdraw fee, how much are these fees exactly.

Additionally is there a monthly fee for having the Prepaid debit card? $2.00 Per month?

Also when my account was funded and approved it says "We can only load the card in $500 increments", does it mean if I wanted $400 loaded it wouldn't be approved?

Thanks in advance.

I would like to express why as a Canadian I would never trust this service it's very simple this company doesn't even have a legitimate office the address is actually a UPS store.

Here is the domain lookup for cavirtex.com

http://www.checkdomain.com/cgi-bin/checkdomain.pl?domain=cavirtex.com

7620 Elbow Dr. SW

Lets see what is at that address.

https://www.google.ca/maps/@50.985593,-114.083159,3a,26.4y,72.78h,94.54t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1so0mcj-J--dt8skV_HwOJEw!2e0

Evidently the UPS store.

http://www.yellowpages.ca/bus/Alberta/Calgary/The-UPS-Store/1820589.html

My questions.

As a consumer could I possibly trust cavirtex.com given you have no PROOF of even an acceptable business address?
Where is the REAL business address? Your dealing with REAL money here REAL banks/exchanges don't hide behind a smoke screen.

ugh.  When did CIBC discontinue service?  That's 3 banks I've been shut out of. Which bank would you all like to see closed to Virtex payments next? I'll get an account set up there, and they can shut it down within a few months.  What bullshit.  I hope the banksters choke on their own vomit.

Hey explorer. This is extremely frustrating for us too. We are working on some adjustments to rectify the situation. We'll make an announcement when the changes go live.

It is certainly indicative you have some issues, perhaps if your business was not so apparently shoddy you wouldn't have these issues but it is apparent and why I would never consider doing business with your company.

I see that you are brand new to Bitcointalk. Welcome.

In case you're not aware, CaVirtex is the largest and oldest Bitcoin exchange in Canada.

We are a licensed LIES...YOU'RE NOT LICENSED Money Service Business with FINTRAC (Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada). We encourage you to look us up in the MSB registry: http://www10.fintrac-canafe.gc.ca/msb-esm/public/msbregistry/searchByName/clf-eng.html#msbregistry/searchByName

Have a great weekend, Pottus.

Maybe someone should contact FINTRAC and see if its ok with them that you use a ups store mailbox as your main business address and maybe someone should also advise them that you openly admit to using "work from home" laborers when dealing with sensitive info such as personal identification information and bank account information. Surely FINTRAC has some rules on how sensitive info should be secured.

EDIT

"Registration with FINTRAC does not indicate that FINTRAC endorses or licenses the business. It indicates only that the business has satisfied the legal requirements to register" -FROM THE FINTRAC WEBSITE

I just got off the phone with FINTRAC, by no means are you trustworthy because you are registered. YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY LISCENCE WITH FINTRAC AS THEY DONT ISSUE LISCENCES! stop LYING!

If anyone here wishes to complain about this blatant lie I urge you to call 780-427-2711 and file a complaint.

Bobsurplus, not sure if you're trying to cause FUD for your own benefit, but I agree with your concerns about the remote workers and the risk to customers' personal information.  For all we know, CS reps could be using laptops they used to surf shady sites with and these machines could be infected with malware. Could the malware include a keylogger or take screen shots of the company's database and transmit your name, dob, address, bank account # , etc. to an attacker?   By the way, how are identity verifications completed - are they done by these work-at-home CS reps or by an actual risk management/security team, and where copies of your driver's license/passport/proof of address/etc. stored?

If you do some looking back you'll see I don't spread FUD.  I have been a client of virtex for just about a year and I am fed-up with this bull shit. I emptied my account a few weeks ago and even closed the bank account I used to do business with them. From now on its Vault Of Satoshi or localbitcoins.

Every time I have called I have been asked for my personal info to "verify" who I was. I had a few issues with deposits and trading and account verification. Who was beside (a friend, druggie brother ect ect ect ) the CS rep while she was taking down my personal info.? Did she jot down my info on a post-it? Where did that post-it end up.

I'm so DONE with these guys its unreal. I urge everyone to contact the number I provided and share your thoughts on this situation.

BTW.. PURE LIES about the FINTRAC license. There is NO LICENSE and I hope that FINTRAC will look into the fact the Virtex posted they are LICENENCED on their website when no such license exists!!  EDIT: I saved screen shots in case they need them!

VirtEx is a company that is all about the new economy made possible through the Internet. As such, VirtEx does not lease expensive office space in a downtown office tower.

VirtEx operates a virtual office, so yes, people work from home in different cities across the country - Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver. Not only is it less expensive and more productive, having employees located across the country allows VirtEx to take advantage of different time zones so we can better serve our customers and business partners.

The use of aliases by frontline customer service agents is utilized as a security measure to protect both VirtEx employees and customers. As is abundantly clear by recent news events, there are a lot of unsavory characters lurking in the Bitcoin space.

By the way, it should be noted, the use of aliases by frontline customer service agents comes as no surprise to successful, long established clients and business partners.

It should also be noted that we are a licensed Money Service Business by FINTRAC. MORE SPEWING LIES Getting this license required extensive due diligence and ongoing transparency.

I encourage anyone who has questions about VirtEx and wants to meet members of the team to attend the Bitcoin Expo in Toronto from April 11-13: http://bitcoinexpo.ca/v2/

Maybe we'll see you there, Bobsurplus. By the way, perhaps you could provide us with your real name, so we know who to look out for.

Okay I checked FINTRAC's site and see
Quote
Registration with FINTRAC does not indicate that FINTRAC endorses or licenses the business. It indicates only that the business has satisfied the legal requirements to register.

Therefore yes, they're registered with FINTRAC but how did you conclude that they don't actually have a license?

CAVIRTEX just threw the word in to make them look better.

While somewhat concerning and disappointing, that alone doesn't justify the degree to which you are freaking out.

They are registered with FINTRAC as an MSB, as we all know.

Using a mailbox as a business address is not unusual in Canada, as was also pointed out to you.

The fact that anyone can register with FINTRAC, even you, doesn't mean you will meet all the obligations and remain a 'member in good standing' if you will.
