Also, the country of origin is important, given the fear of scams.

You should check the corruption ranking of countries:

If the ICO is from a country with lots of corruption, then you know you're taking a higher risk.  This is because the team probably has less of an issue with exaggerating, lying or cheating, because these things are more part of their country's culture.

You can easily see a difference between the Whitepaper of fake and real project. Sometimes the Whitepaper are way too tough to understand. In such cases I tend to avoid that project. Their "Blockchain Expert" was an Inside Sales person in his last job.  An Inside Sales person is someone who is not good enough to be a customer-facing Sales person.

Their "Blockchain Developer" never developed a blockchain before.

TenX and Monaco are already building crypto debit cards.  Other than this, what is Change-Bank's compelling value proposition?

Why would we put our cryptos in a bank?  The advantage of cryptos is not to keep our money in untrustworthy banks.

Honestly, articles are pretty much enough. I usually go through Whitepapers when I find the project super interesting. Most aren't worth the time.

To say that you are a "Blockchain Expert" when you worked as an Inside Sales Rep until 1.5 months ago is an outright lie.

To say that you are a "Blockchain Developer" when you've never developed any blockchain is an exaggeration at best, or a lie at worst.

If the team is willing to lie about this, you'll never know what else they're willing to lie about.

I only spent 5 minutes to find out the above.  Here's what I found in another 2 minutes:

Change-Bank's "CTO, Blockchain Developer" was an iOS Developer at Montise Create until March 2017.  Cannot find any info on Montise Create.  How knowledgeable is this guy in managing developers, or about banking, or about cryptos?

How would Change be able to give loans, if people do not give them money (cryptos)?  Someone doesn't understand how banking works.

What problem is Change solving in insurance?

I only read whitepapers when they got my interest, this way I could understand more of their project and that's the time I invest and show my support to the project.

Yes, i am reading a lot of whitepapers right now, i am looking for investing in some icos in the next days/weeks, and i am paying a lot of attention to their whitepapers, i think that is the most important part of the ico because there is all the information, how they are going to distribute the money, how they are going to make the price go up, etc.
I am starting to have a little faith about all the icos that are here right now.

Most of the times you just need to take a quick look at the OP to find out that it is a scam. However, on rare occasions, the project has great potential, though it is something very difficult that they are trying to do.

When their is ICO and I have to invest I always read the white paper so I could understand the project. And their goal to develop the project. It is necessarry to read the white paper because you have to invest and if the project is good.

To be honest, I don't read it if it's too extensive  . What I do always read is the ANN thread, it's amazing how much information about the project devs can pack up in a single post.

ann is good and already describe big part about the project. maybe that is why some people not read whitepaper because it is contain same thing with ANN thread

What you are doing is right. Lazy people who invest in ICOs without doing due diligence are usually the ones who will end up complaining and whining about ICOs being scam. ICOs are not scams. There are scam projects that are using ICOs but not ICOs themselves. Reading whitepaper is really one necessary part of due diligence.

Absolutely. If you invest your money into something it's best you do your own due diligence. You will need to read the white paper, research the team and advisory board, and join a community. By following the hype you are investing blindly and will increase your risk further.

But the current project infographics are just kinda clear, people only refer to token distribution, team member for the whitepaper

whitepaper is good for taking a close look to project but i think whitepaper can be made false.it is better to check team and advisory board and the most important escrow contract.popularity among investor is also a key point for any project to be successful and also look for its exchange preference.
