Bitcoin aside, are there any other forms of crypto currency? What has higher equivalent in USD?

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Of course there are. Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency made by satoshi nakamoto in 2009 but after that time many other people also made their coins which now called Altcoins . Some of the old coins are etherium, Litcoin, ripple coin, Doge coin etc. You can find the detailed instruction and about their markets are there charts for prices in this site called https://coinmarketcap.com

There are hundreds of coins. It doesn't matter what it is worth per coin. You need to look at how rare a coin is. You can always visit any exchange and organize the coins according to value then you will know. Already people have mentioned the most common high value coins. Just because they high value doesn't always mean it's a good investment or one that will be successful. Some less know coins can turn out good profits too. Then you can use this profits to build up your main investments.

There are altcoins that are popular now and there are lots that's on the rise. Value in USD are not as high as bitcoin but they are worth to keep.  These altcoins are there to spread your investment.
