Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

The fact remains that if they were robbing us it would’ve happened on day one. Real fast. Doesn’t require weeks of bullshit maneuvering. This is crypto we’re talking about. Not oceans eleven. IF THE COINS ARE IN THE WALLET... THEY HAVENT STOLE SHIT. And the coins are indeed still in the same wallets. I don’t understand why people think it takes weeks to make off with digital coins.

Exactly, they could transfer all the coins from wallets on day one! Close the site and eliminate everything that anybody could use it to follow them! There is not such a "buying time or any bulshit like that"  if this was a scam, they had a plan and big period before start the work!

all we can do is guess, and that is what 99% here are doing. we can only judge from our experiences and fears but there is nothing certain about this approach?

so let's take a look at the facts:

-no actual change on the website for 2 weeks now?
-you still get the same errors when trying to log in or no email is sent to you (fixed IPs can log in from time to time but they can't really do anything with it except see their coins)
-you still get "An operation on a socket could not be performed because the system lacked sufficient buffer space or because a queue was full."

so first question? what are they trying to fix here? there's has been made zero efforts on that issue.

next question: did we also forget that name and address by which coinsmarkets.com domain is registered are fake and that someone has been visiting the venue in netherlands without any (positive) results?

i am not FUD'ing or saying that something bad is going to happen, I just say lets answer these question first before dreaming of getting anywhere near our coins.

Yeah but that weird address has been there for years and nobody gave a shit because it didn’t matter.
And also as far as nothing has changed on the site... for the first time since the crash the wallets are syncing.

ok the wallets were syncing but now the site is gone!? i guess that's it, case closed Grin

Domain is on hold by registrar. In some countries it still works (dns changes haven't propagated yet).
I guess it's because of all those complaints sent by angry crypto newbies to gandi.net.

Welp, now CM needs a new domain too, lol.

God I really hope that CoinsMarkets.com comes back up. The website went down literally right as I was trying to withdraw my ECA coins. Is there any official word from CoinsMarkets today???

You wouldn't be able to withdraw anything... withdraw.php file, responsible for withdrawals, was removed 3 weeks ago from server.
So, doesn't matter if site is up or down.
Also, you wouldn't be able to login to site today.

Stop talk shit.

I whitdrawals 2k Desire 1 hour before the shit happend.

Dont talk about 3 weeks if you have no clue. Always the same with hater kiddos.

you need to go to doctor... there is something wrong with your head dude.
It's 3 weeks already. PoS didn't add up since 2nd January on CM.
And you were not able to withdraw... stop taking stuff you on Cheesy doesn't work well for you Cheesy
Maybe you from CM? just to distract people more? Cheesy

You are unable to count, you are delusional seeing fake withdrawals Cheesy well.. you deserve to loose money Cheesy

DOMAIN PROBLEM

https://www.whois.com/whois/coinsmarkets.com

STATUS
clientHold
clientTransferProhibited

CLIENTHOLD:
This status code tells your domain's registry to not activate your domain in the DNS and as a consequence, it will not resolve. It is an uncommon status that is usually enacted during legal disputes, non-payment, or when your domain is subject to deletion.

CLIENTTRANSFERPROHIBITED:
Domain names can be locked to protect against unauthorized changes. This status may be called "Registrar lock" or "Client Transfer Prohibited" (or a similar term).

If your registrar does not allow you to unlock your domain name yourself, please contact your registrar to have it unlocked. If your registrar does not unlock the domain or provide you with a reasonable method to unlock it within five days from your request, please submit a Transfer Complaint.

I've thought about it and if they come back up I'm not moving my coins. If I can ride out this outage with 'em I can ride out any future outages they have.  Grin  We just have to bear with 'em as you say.

Yes, this is very interesting. In a weird way, like an episode of the twilight zone or something.

The guys running it seem to be trying to keep it going but unwilling to communicate anything. Too stupid to understand the results of keeping peoples millions in the dark with seemingly nothing happening on the website for weeks. Except withdraw pages disappearing, and sudden self-DDOS functionality appearing where the site reloads itself all the time. Weird test-transactions popping up for a few days. Balances changing back and forth with small amounts. Login sometimes working, other times not.

Yet smart enough to build an exchange, provide POS functionality as a unique feature, allow trading in fractions of satoshis. Raking in interesting shitcoins from the fringes of the dark corners of the internets. Making it all work for loads of shitcoins and a respectable number of people. But again unwilling to communicate and seemingly unable to realize the results. Not doing a clear exit scam to grab and run but running the weirdest show.

Registering their shits at some random guys house in Den Haag. Or maybe they are the old guy there, who knows. Anyway, getting their domain name seized by the registrar for this. In their few and rare communications telling that they only communicate on their own site. Typically oneliners but few days ago an actual post with information. False or real, who knows. It's all too weird. But now that the domain is seized, how will they ever communicate to people on their site, which is inaccessible. And it is their only medium of communication they are willing to use. Hah.

Smart enough to set up CloudFlare to hide their IP's. To apparently hide from the registrar, and everything else in theory needed to hide themselves. Too stupid to hook themselves direct to their DB as root. And to expose their internal IP addresses allowing us to bypass CloudFlare in their error messages. Leaving an odd bot on coinsmarketschat.chatango.com to spam same "switching servers" message for weeks, while reporting different issues using a randomly changing oneliner on their page. The chatango chat turning day by day into more desperate place where people seemingly are taking stronger and stronger weed every day.

Well, I have some nice pile of shitcoins there that I would love to have back and trade some more on their interesting stuff. The POS staking was just great because I am just a noob too lazy to set up all the different wallets. Not really expecting to have anything any more, but this shit is so weird I keep watching it in fascination. Those shitcoins turned to BTC and fiat could've bought some nice pile of popcorn for sure.

If it does come up, I will keep using it for sure but have consider how much Smiley

Hello everybody,

I want to make clear at first that i have not so much money lost at coinsmarkets but i feel fucked for the rest, i don't hate te exchange. but it looks like their is somethings not right about coinsmarkets

So what did you do with the WHOIS info of the domain
Well i've been to the address in Den haag, Surinamestraat 26 The Netherlands. on that address does live an old man with the age of 75/80 ain't no Juvo Marceles.

So did you get in contact with the ISP? Nforce.com ( 08-01-2018
Yes, i did! my first contact was on the phone with Nforce.com on 08-01-2018 i did talked to Nforce with the possibility of a chance that people are gonna lose their coins/money. Nforce did asked me to send a mail, and they will respond later on my questions for the community.

Also we did a report to gandi

12-01-2018

i've seen allot of post on twitter/bitcointalk/reddit that people can see their balance! but what people not look for is that their wallets are online. It's only website database information. no real balance! (unless you can provide proof)

Also i did speak with a 24 hour emergency telephone line of Nforce cause they did not respond to the mail. A worker of Nforce did admit that the coinsmarkets are hosted over there. and that he is gonna send a mail about this. I told him that this was no option and the best option for their business was to call his supervisors and get the servers down.

----------------------------
Last known information
-----------------------------

the profile of coinsmarkets, but the last time they were online was on the 4th.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=978044

Has all the markings of another well executed exit scam. I have seen this before during the bit.ac exit scam.  "We are upgrading" they said.

Well I also have a pile of worthless shitcoins there, nothing more.  Let's see.

The domain isn’t seized. All they have to do is sort out whatever and they’ll remove the clienthold status.

Yeah right! I have to grab a bag of popcorn before I get caught up on the coinsmarkets latest.

I don't know if this is true or not, but a few months back someone was on coinsmarkets chatbox saying the owner was a teenage boy running the operation out of his mom's basement. If true that would explain a lot...
