If the United States, Russia and China combined to declare this currency illegal.
I think it could destroy bitcoin.But this is almost impossible, so now the development of bitcoin, each country has its own plan, every head of government is not a fool.

From your topic, Who can destroy Bitcoin? in a single person, I don't think there is any.
The major Factors that can destroy bitcoin is shutting down the internet (if possible), the stop of mining activities, no more investors etc.

Even those countries you do mention are the most powerful nation they cant completely stop bitcoin knowing that there still lots of countries left which can actually make use of bitcoin still which means stopping it completely would be impossible unless if all people would decide to dump their bitcoin and switch to another stuff then this is the thing which would destroy bitcoin for sure. |

1st if no have investor of this forum the bitcoin system will make have a big problem our getting fail the system to make dropping low the currency, secondly the people making bad decision about selling and buying to make changing the currency, and lastly the people who getting interested to hack this system of bitcoin to making trouble of the investor and the owner and also the people involved this system will make the currency drop.

None? as long as the nodes of bitcoin will still actives to secure the bitcoin network around the world, but according to the recent news and it seems the government is be able to control bitcoin through give a limit to the exchange sites or even banned it from their countries. But bitcoin is about freedom of use. It's true that there no given thing that could destroy bitcoin for now. Because as the days goes by , new development and innovation also happens to bitcoin resulting for a better form of bitcoin that could serve people on transaction, investments and trading that is a good thing for Bitcoin development and increase for its value. It would be true that some could impact bad on bitcoin’s price in market. Like China banned bitcoin but in various countries bitcoin going powerful. Also in some business bitcoin is accepted now for example uber is much popular app for drivers in the world is going to accept bitcoin. At last value of bitcoin in market should reach up to the mark. |

what's puzzling me is why not a single altcoin brought any new features after years of BTC.
Does the new devs just copy/paste the source, change name and hoping to gain some money? Where are all the hungry devs ready to improve the protocol, adding new features on the blockchain without focusing only on pump and dump about their new altcoin and then forget about it?
This is something that after many years of BTC still confuse me.

The only thing I think that will destroy bitcoin is the worldwide internet shutdown (you can't use bitcoin if you don't have internet) and possibly the corrupt and greedy governments destroy bitcoin and make it illegal in their country.

I don't think that there is any chance that will result into market of the bitcoin to zero Because the main factor here totally different .Here we can say that few countries who have not decalred any official statement to use bitcoin legally can ban bitcoin use , but still here the Market can't go down to zero Because in this world many are the countries who are big economical power and are using bitcoin as a official and primary way of payment option. So we can understand well that there is no chance of the destroy of the bitcoin and also here we know very well that if any country or government can ban the use of btc but can't stop the Network of the bitcoin , so the perosn who can access the network can easily access the bitcoin also . So here chances are totally zero to destroy the Market of the bitcoin . Beside of this there are some chances that bitcoin comes in competition of another coins ( only chnaces ) . |

Destroy it can disable the Internet and tight regulations around the world. But this will not happen, because it only leads to the decline of society. And between the countries there is a constant war for the first places in the world market. So I do not think that bitkoinu something serious threatens.

Bitcoin cannot be truly destroyed without a global catastrophe that wipes out pretty much all electricity on the planet.
There are many things which could cause the value of Bitcoin to decrease; but it is nearly impossible for Bitcoin to be completely destroyed.
Dev's in prison would do very little Outlawing would need to be done in-sync globally; or else the nations that continue to allow it will allow it to prosper even more.
In my opinion the way to hurt Bitcoin the most would be to buy an enormous amount and artificially sustain the price at ridiculous levels; get mining difficulty insanely high; and then unload your coins. If the market crashes enough miners will be unprofitable and shut down; causing blocks to not be processed.
However it would be possible in such an emergency scenario to hard-fork Bitcoin to lower the difficulty. So an attack like this would cost billions and there is no guarantee Bitcoin wouldn't just route around it.

For me there is no one who can destroy bitcoin, blockchain is a technology that no one can penetrate since every user is a server so if one server does not agree to the others it will not update so hacking it in this generation might be impossible.
I think war can end bitcoin since at the times of war the very essential thing we need is to get food, shelter, and water which is the basic essential needs of human.

Bitcoins can be destroyed, nothing stays forever.
The main factors that can play a major role in destroying BTC could be :-
- a global internet shut down : what is a digital crypto currency without internet. It is obvious that I'd their is no net then their would be no transaction and no BTC .
- a war :- a war like ww1 or ww2 can cause BTC to shut down . The world witnessed the economical crisis during war and no currency has the power to oppose the crisis during war times.

Are you referring to the destruction of the idea/popularity/concept of bitcoin or the destruction of actual coins (so called burning). Burning of coins or tokens isn't technically a destruction as the they are not erased from the ledger. They are removed from circulation by sending to a wallet that can be thought of as a "graveyard" wallet. No one has access to these coins so are they are functionally destroyed.
