Why this thread:
Newbies are spamming the forum, We have to think about it

Problem:
Actually when people come here they don't even think twice whether to post it or not, they don't even search before making a new thread on the forum. Sometimes it's good to make a new thread as we can get new and updated information from a forum member but It went disgusting when the same question is asked again and again over the time from different members.

What we have to do:
We have to aware them that the forum allows many facilities like searching, had the sticky posts about what to do in a section and what not. We already have more of the things but still, need some improvement.

What we can do:
We can send a PM all the newly registered account and also who woke up after a long time(Reason: Possibly sold to a new member) with a warning that before you start posting on the forum please understand how it works. Including all the important sticky posts like few from Meta section and Beginners and Help and telling them the functionalities that they can avail on this forum.

What we get from it:

I am not saying we can stop the spam totally with this but it will help the forum(possibly less spam) when people know what to post, how the forum works and what are the rules. They are then aware of most of the aspect of forum and it will surely help the forum.

What you think: Please let the community know without spamming this thread.

There is spam on every forum here, I think we can't avoid that. Imagine newbies are newbies here usually, they don't know much about bitcoin and ask questions which seems spam for you but everyone was like that. When newbies will be here for year, then there won't be spam, of course that's normal from newbies, they don't know much but with spam they get usually answers and become more better and better in bitcoin and altcoins. This means they can be useful for forum and to help some other newbies.
Spamming can't be stopped and sometimes it mustn't be avoided. If you want to stop, then close registration for new members and carefully remove spammers from current members but that will be silliest decision ever and will cause catastrophe on this forum.

registration for new members
There's a novel idea.  Theymos won't go for it, because that spam by noobs is making him a lot
of money, so I've heard.  It didn't go unnoticed that OP's grasp of English isn't that great, which drives
native speakers like myself nuts.  It'd be nice if some posts that I reported got trashed, but that doesn't
even seen to happen.  Nothing to do but suck it up and deal with it.

And I also noticed that the OP was basically told to not be surprised if he ends up on the spammers list by Lauda about a week ago here since most of his posts are um, garbage, so to speak.

I beliebe the purpose of this forum is to make rather open forum and hence along with spam from newbies there comes a lot of freedom and hence something different. I have read a lot about this thread and actually it's a sort of decentralized forum since the owner allows such freedom to everyone.

I, also was a newbie and i do understand them, from the past Jr.Member, Members,Seniors,Hero and Legendaries have been patient with me on what should i post on the forum. Spammers is not a problem, it can be fixed as soon as the higher ranks helps them to understand the rules and regulation. I think the bigger problem here is the Spammers who spam even though they are not newbies, The Posters who posts in a garbage way of constructing sentence yet still have the higher ranks, but that's not a big issue for me, the least i could do is to report them to moderator or quote them and ask them to proofread their posts. I am not perfect , I may have mistakes on my grammar but i am doing my best to improve it.

New member is not the cause of spam but the potential activity features of this forum. Many account farmers create many accounts and then post once every two weeks when activity updated. Most of their post is spam and the devs still implementing that feature even though they know that many are abusing it. It is also good if the devs implement an invitation code from trusted members before someone can create account here.

yes at least we can only advise them to pay more attention in conveying their thoughts to a post so that we in this forum remind each other for better progress in this forum.

The problem is signature campaigns and the third world shitposters that come here in droves just to earn and until changes are made to how signature campaigns operate here nothing is going to change. Newbies aren't going to bother reading stickies and many of them just don't understand how activity works nor can they even comprehend English very well half of the time. I have one sure-fire solution to stop all these threads though: remove signatures from activity/ranks and people will no longer care about activity at all. If you want a signature you will have to donate to the forum to get one. This will also stop people literally farming dozens and in some cases hundreds of accounts to abuse campaigns which is currently far too easy to do. Anyone can create a hundred accounts either manually or by bots and in a month or two they'll be ready to abuse a crapcoin campaign which they can easily do when dozens of them pop up every month and most have no quality control at all.

It is very curious that the section with most garbage in this forum in the “Bitcoin discussion” section. The equivalent ones in other forums are usually the best. There is also spam in other forums but the amount of spam in this one is directly related to the money flowing in it.

I agree that the main reason are newbies and also signature campaigns but I don’t think it is a good idea to PM newbies.

I think the only thing we can do to help a bit is to ignore shitty posts. Also, because they often get deleted.

Something big to stop the spamming can only be done by the management of the site but as it has been said it doesn’t seem that they are going to do anything at all.

I'm one of the new members here, but my first 3 weeks here i didn't even try post to something. Only read and learn, but i've learned about signatures bounty, and start to undestand why newbes spam so much. Actually i dont think this is a big problem. What about to allow post something after 1 mounth of registration?

We have to realize there are limits to what newbies can or cannot do. Moderators can delete their post just like everybody else. What then is the use of calling it a spam. If the moderator deletes your post where then is the evidence of spam. You will then forget that you were spammed. Or maybe you are not aware that you were spammed because you were on hiatus when it happened. Besides that is what the posting timer should be doing to newbies. To block them from spamming. There is no need to over react on this. Everybody is doing their job. Don't worry. Not unless you think that the mods are powerless.

The thread is made to get a solution to a problem but it looks like everyone like to answer the same thing again and again, the signature campaign might be the reason for that. So, I don't even have the problem from that, people here usually answer the same thing many times the only difference is the language they use, the words they use to tell that.

Locking this thread as we can't reach to a solution and forum likes it as it is.

Thanking all for their replies.
