The best kind of parent I would say is strict but understanding, gives orders but leaves space for freedom of choice, critical but supportive, affectionate and loving. If you go to any extreme, you would affect your child badly like having them become too spoiled or too reserved. It's good to be a part of your child's life, not just the provider of their food and residence.
After all this, children don't always grow up to be the best version of themselves. After all, parents aren't the only deciding factors in shaping them up.
