China, for example, can exert a great deal of influence over the valuation of bitcoin. if North Korea’s regime were to collapse under the weight of war, China, along with South Korea, would be forced to deal with a potentially massive humanitarian relief effort. does this sort of thing have any affect on the value of bitcoin? to what extent can the value of bitcoin be manipulated?

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

The last example of such effect was just recently. The head of the Centre Bank of some country claimed that bitcoin is a fake currency. Because of this critisim the price of bitcoin plummeted from about 4K to 3,5k
