It has importent role because now many people think a bit differently, look at ICOs that are lounching like every day theres a new one - of course that it has big part in our community. Of course that it has role, many people are starting bussinesses around bitcoin, many new ideas are born around it. It has a role, maybe its not that big or it doesn't seem that big to some people but I assure you that it will have huge role it is already making an impact on the world and society in general.

Bitcoin have already proven itself to investors and the wide range of users who uses it as a payment option worldwide that it have indeed have an important role on the real world in future, it also serves as another alternative options for investors to invest too.

Its not used as payment option, let's be clear here. Those many investors are comming because they see price is going up and they want to cash out more at end, this is happening for altcoins also if we look at it. The point is that it needs to go through this phase and hopefully we will use it more as a payment model rather than use it as an asset and commoddity as many other people do. Time has to pass for cryptocurrency to be used 80% or even more to only pay for goods and not to do only trades with them on exchanges.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Bitcoin has already played a role in letting people know about the blockchain and other cryptocurrencies which is more than enough to kick start this journey and with its continued rise in price people will flock in to invest in these cryptos .

And the simplest reason for bitcoins role is freedom.

I don't agree with this statement or question, because bitcoin changes the life of many people, it provides unique facilities to the people, it makes the life easy for people as well as it changed my life and bitcoin have already proven itself to investors and the wide range of users who uses it as a payment option worldwide.

It is not true because bitcoin has a big role in our world. For example, it can help in our financial needs and can help us to earn money. But not everyone are using bitcoin so they can't really know how important it is. If you don't believe that bitcoin has its own role in our real world, that your choice.
No thats not right because for me bitcoin has role in this real world like it can be it a source of income and can be a money that can help in financial to someone. So saying it has no role they are not the real bitcoin and they dont know how important of bitcoin to change their life.

From thee thing on what I see; I think this issue is not true, it’s just rumors and gossips.
Bitcoin plays a big role in the society; they make all things efficient and effective at the same time. Making centralization in all process and systematic management deals with them to achieve a bright future.

BTC has no role to play in the real world affairs. People who try to create such a role are confused between asset and currency. The design itself only considers pure virtual activity with no touch with real world. People also mistake the buzz words such as "peer-to-peer", "border-less", "decentralised" etc as the problems to be solved. But sadly these are not real problems. The insignificant problems (speed and fees) are hardly enough to sell and these problems are going away anyway. I have no respect to Nakamoto because he ignored the most important element (govt and authorities) in social situation and still want to sell it as some solution to social situations. Hardly any country has regulatory framework that deals with btc.

The problems are rooted in the philosophy of crypto, not in the code. So, the beauty of blockchain tech is irrelevant for btc. It is like selling a bad app by showing how great Android is.

1) Bitcoin does not provide controlled visibility, because it doesn't recognise the existence of governments. Now if you make changes to provide visibility to authorities, ALL privacy is gone. If you don't, then ALL visibility is gone.

2) Fees are rooted in the design. Whatever consensus you invent for a public blockchain, you can't escape rewarding the work of validating transactions. So zero fees are not possible.

Public blockchains sacrifice all good qualities of a business application for the sake of trust-less environment which is not even actually a problem to solve in many contexts. Also they make it extremely costly to run small amount of code or small storage. Who wants their business code to be validated by all arbitrary people in the world?

Most ICOs are sharing economy concepts similar to uber model. Lack of a responsible intermediary and costs will make these "innovations" to fail, if they ever have to touch real-world activities.

Bulk of the blockchain activity will move to business collaborations which might not even look like a blockchain. Crypto coins will be used in most business blockchains, but these coins will be value-less tokens and very specific to the business or institutional activity.

AT first I think that this moght hold true due to the fact that bitcoin has been verh weak and not knwon to the world. But now bitcoin and in extension cryptocurrency has really made noise and making waves due to this and having a significant impact on the world

In my world, bitcoin is playing a major role as the financier to some of my projects. Next year, as governments and companies take notice, it will start to affect the way people do business.

Sorry to say but for me Bitcoin has a role in real world. Though it runs through a certain technology or not even regulated by government it greatly influence a lot of people. Why? It is just because there is money involved, they can gain their income when they engaged in this task. It is a great opportunity for every individual and families, therefore it has a role to every community as well as to every country who are patronizing Bitcoin.

In fact, I have been struggling with this question. How does bitcoin play a role in real life? The blockchain does have its role, but I'm not sure how bitcoin works in real life.

The needs of a person in real life are true, and bitcoin is one of the medium to meet some things we need, So i might say bitcoin has a role in a real world.

You answer nothing. How can you use bitcoin in real life? What can you do with your coins, how to spend it? And will you spend it? Community of HODLers is the worst thing that could happen with BTC.

The real interesting question is whether Bitcoin could become a real thing with an important economic function. The crazy price swings of the digital "currency" — which has an ultimately finite supply and is distributed via cryptology, with no Central Bank-like issuer — has prompted numerous discussions about whether the currency could become an important economic entity that's actually a "viable alternative" to, say, the U.S. dollar.

It is obvious that when new thing come into the society, there are people that can't  adapt to it reality. I think most people find it hard to accept change and Bitcoin awareness and popularity is making many doubt it roll in the entire world. I allso think that Bitcoin has played certain roll especially empowering many people like jobs and new business creation . However, Bitcoin is just new for any one to conclude on these various argument, and as it has come to stay,Bitcoin impart in the world will end these doubt in a short possible time.

You can spend bitcoin at many places. You just have to look. How well have you actually looked? Not all places take bitcoin directly so look out for payment processors in which accept bitcoin as a payment option. I use bitcoin to buy things all the time.

It's good that you can buy whatever you need and pay for this BTC. But typical users don't want to use special services to order something.

I agree with you. Bitcoin is accepted to many places but not ALL places. One of the things that you might enjoy is finding an online seller that's accepting bitcoin as payment. Bitcoin is accepted to a lot of places because people that has been transacting online are probably reading things on the Internet and find out that people using bitcoin is growing.

If you are trying to say that bitcoin does not have a use in the actual world. I'm afraid but I have to admit that you are correct. You can't eat bitcoin. You can't smell it. It simply does not have a physical appearance for it to exist on the real world. On the other hand, our world is not just about the real world now. It is about the world that we have created on the Internet as well and sometimes people are more interested about it instead of the real world.

Indeed,it does'nt play some important role in the real world. Why? Even if bitcoin exist it won't solve the problems towards poverty and hunger. Will it end wars? Does it show equality?.See? Btc does'nt make sense at all in real world however people gets addicted by it maybe because it part of our needs in our everyday life.Maybe it does'nt play a big role in real world however it plays an important role for every individuals who seeks for opportunity .

When you say "roles in real world," what does it actually mean? Do you mean it like something tangible, something that can be felt, touch or actually hold? If you define that phrase as such then you are correct, bitcoin doesn't have any role in the real world, but that's because its an online currency, something that exists only in the virtual world. However, if we are talking about "roles" as "functions or a part that it plays" then bitcoin has it. After all, it is now commonly used in money transactions such as buying, selling and trading. It can actually be exchange for a fiat and help the users to pay for their basic needs and wants in the real world.
