I have an ASRock H110 motherboard with MSI RX 550.
I am getting the error message "there is no screen to be attached matching miner" repeatedly printed on the screen.

Any help would be great.

I have had a few issues since I've installed the H110 Pro BTC+ board but haven't seen that one, can you give more background like which OS, miner, etc?

I am running an nvidia rig on h110 pro btc+ and SMOS and I am getting this same message, it displays it 1000 times before it finally boots. Making my restarts take 30+ minutes but I can't figure out how to bypass it, it just keeps printing it to console over and over... very annoying. And I have a screen attached Wink

This error simply pops up because the miner console might be attached to remote screening or SSH. An example of nvOC setting for this:

If it's local, mining process will show on the screen itself but if its remote, the screen will display, "There is no screen to be attached matching miner" and you'll have to SSH to IP of this rig to see the mining process.
Find this option and change it to LOCAL. Done!

BTW, if you're running a Nvidia rig, why not give nvOC a try. It's really good.

This is right..

Also NV or AMD doesn't matter, pretty much any OS works well with both now(except Windows). Personally I just switched all my rigs from nvOC & PiMP to SimpleMining.net Smiley It's super easy to setup & just works very well all the time.

My client encountered a similar error message with SMOS + MSI 170A Gaming 5M Mobo + 8x570 right after clearing CMOS.  It could be related to your BIOS settings.

I had him set his BIOS to the following configuration, and it solved it for him.

Advanced Mode (F7) -> Settings -> Advanced Settings -> PCI-E Subsystem Settings -> set 4G DECODE to ENABLE.
set PEG1 to "GEN 2"
set PEG2 to "GEN 2"
set PCI Latency to "96 Cycles"

hello!
We are getting this error message all the time, and the google search showed us the forum topic about this problem. One of the users posted a message, in which he told how to fix it using the OS settings (by changing "REMOTE" to "LOCAL). Could you show us where exactly can we find that code in the Linux OS settings?

Hi, Friends! It's a very urgent topic still. Anyone knows a decision - please, clarify where should "LOCALorREMOTE" setting be set?
Should I write it underline of my email in config.txt file that was created on USB-flash during "nvOS" image burning?
Something like:

Code:
## YOU NEED TO ENTER YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS !!!
## It will be used for rig authentication and managment
USER_EMAIL=admin@mail.com
LOCALorREMOTE="LOCAL"

Or where should it be??

Thanks in advance and best regards!

Has anyone figured out this screen issue?

I’ve tried everything.

SSH to IP? Can someone explain how to do this?
I also don’t know my IP? Username? And password?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BIoS is not the issue. Maybe driver. Maybe SMOS. Help me please lol.

Anyone have any luck with this issue?

I'm building my first rig and could definitely use some help Cheesy

MOBO: Gigabyte z270p-d3 currently on BIoS version F6
GPU: 6x GTX 1070 ti
Intel g4400 CPU
EVGA GQ 1000w PSU
Simple miner OS on a flash drive
Ethernet plugged into MOBO
Configured Bios settings per Simple miner website (I couldn't find the 4G Decoding to enable but all other settings are correct)

I'm able to boot ubuntu but keep getting this same error message: "There is no screen to be attached matching miner."

I tried:
- attaching just one GPU directly into the MOBO but still get the same issue.
- switching risers and various components/wires but no luck.
- tried an identical but different GPU - still no luck.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thank you!!

Not sure if it will help but put Bios back to default and just change the PCIe to gen 2. Also is thumb drive 3.0 usb and is it plugged into a 3.0 usb slot.

Hey guys I have Asus Z270-AR and i use simpleOS NVOC (6 gtx 1070 and 2 GTX 1060 cards on the motherboard) they were working just fine.

I decided to upgrade the bios when i upgraded the Power supply.

I started getting the error"there is no screen attached matching miner"

I realized its due to bios upgrade the previous version was march 3/24/17 bios and i upgraded to the 1/2018 or the december one.

Important thing is once i roll'd back the BIOS to 3/24 it worked like a charm no issue whatsoever.

so please check your bios and try different ones if it was working in the past.

[funny thing is after bios update the windows would not recognize the onboard ethernet card] so after rolling back bios the ethernet port works just fine.

To All:

Regarding: There is no screen to be attached matching miner

Solution/best practice: Patience

After a couple minutes, smOS continues booting and updating itself and it should work just fine. It just takes some time.

I'm running 6x1070 ti on an ASrock Hb110

Thank you for the post. I am unable to get my rig to be recognized by Simplemining website. Do you have any suggestions?

I have waited over half an hour and keep getting the "There is no screen attached matching miner"

It sounds like you've dealt with this. Do you have any suggestions for me?

Anything you can suggest is HIGHLY HIGHLY APPRECIATED

Hey, I too am having the same problem..

I have

MOBO: Gigabyte z270p-d3 (not sure bios version, but i just got it a week ago so I'm sure I'm up to the latest version)
GPU: 2x GTX 1050 TIs (currently one connected) and 1 GTX 960 (disconnected)
Intel G3900 CPU
EVGA GQ 850w PSU
Simple miner OS on a 16GB flash drive (it's a usb 2.0 flash drive connected to a usb 3.0 or 3.1 port)
Ethernet plugged into MOBO

I left my Rig running for 30 minutes and I still kept getting "There is no screen to be attached matching miner." I wonder if I attached my single GTX 1050TI gpu correctly?

BTW, I'm having this issue, stuck on a seemingly endless loop, and and am sure it is not "risers" because I'm not using risers on this machine, and everything works fine in windows. I haven't tried modifying the BIOS yet, but was able to hit control-c which gave me a command prompt. Which may come in useful.

EDIT: Apparently the solution for me was "patience" because it did a "shutdown now" and it rebooted and actually started working this time.

Simply connect your GPU 1st to the PCIE (not the PCI) and verify that the riser is correctly connected to the MOBO
