I don't know why people say bitcoin is gambling. Its not gambling. You are investing your money and time. You use your internet. So its not gambling dealing with it.
Bitcoin is like a fiat money you can use it to buy somethinng online or you can use it to gambling also but bitcoin is not realy a gambling you can use it for gambling but not a gambling himself |

When people first see bitcoin it is definitely considered a gamble how not, only people who play the internet but can earn a lot of money,
and why people always think that bitcoin is gambling because they do not understand what bitcoin is.
'just look at people getting rich quickly because bitcoin means gambling',
that's what people judge for bitcoin.

I think what they meant is bitcoin is a gamble, but in any type of investing on any type of form (stocks,cfd,crypto etc.) there are always risk which is like in a sense gambling. But of course the reason why we invest is unlike gambling (unless you are a proffesional gambler) you are just hoping to get lucky. With investment there are risks but you could always factor the technical analysis and the research you have done with the company/coins.

I am just new and of course I have some knowledge of bitcoins. And I think Bitcoins are not a type of gamble because the price falls even when it comes back to its original price and sometimes higher
So what is your point here? Isn't the price volatility of bitcoin also takes a huge part of the gamble we are taking in bitcoin? I mean, if we invest at a certain time when the price of bitcoin is too low, we predicted that this is the right time to invest because bitcoin is affordable and we believe that after that dump, bitcoin's price will rise again and we will earn profits from that investment, but it is not, we don't know that! the price of bitcoin might increase after we invested or it might still continue to decrease and later on, if that happens, we will have a little regret thinking that "I should've waited more and invested at this price so that I could gain more". This is some of the gambles we take on bitcoin. Investing or trading in Bitcoin can be done by doing reasearch on the charts and the development team just like you can do with investing in the stock market. Most people would not consider investing in the stock market as gambling as long as you do some homework. Some gambling games are games of chance that require no knowledge or skill like dice or roulette. Investing in Bitcoin can be less risky if you do the important research needed to buy or sell at the appropriate times. |

I think anything that involves money is a gambling. Like in bitcoin you invest real money and then you already gamble whether your investment will gain or lose, so we can call Bitcoin a legal gambling because we gamble our money on it. |

I do not think it's gambling, for example
trading, we buy coins and sell them back for profit
mining we look for bitcoin by using machine
bounty, we are paid in promoting a coin product for their ICO
then what is the reason for this is called gambling

they say bitcoin is gambling because in bitcoin you take a risk when you invest but its investing. investing in bitcoin is not really sureness to become successful but sometime it can be lost but bitcoin is not a gambling, you must do know this.

maybe all they know about btc is that it can be used in some gambling websites. So they prematurely conclude that btc is gambling without trying to get deeper knowledge in regard to cryptocurrency first. While you can always make them understand by simply and patiently explaining things to them, you can also ignore their comments.

Yeah thats true!maybe people must be misenterpret from the words gambling.because always pop up in their mind that gambling is illegal and vices of a person,and many people will loss there fortune because of this kind of vices.but bitcoin gambling is not like this,its give fortune to the people and contribute humanitarian in the economics society. |

Like I've said before, people are confusing the formal and informal definitions of "gambling." Gambling is technically playing a game of chance. However, people often use the word gambling to denote activities that involve some risk. Investing involves risk. Bitcoin is not a game of chance. |

I agree with you.Bitcoin is a digital currency.Bitcoin is money were in you can hold and use in exchange of good and services,it is fungible and a medium of exchange. Trading it is like some form of gambling because you're taking a risk and predict a probability,there's a chance of losing your btc or money if you don't have ideas on proper trading. But still it's just like trading foreign currencies.Bitcoin is a not gambling but it can be used to fund in gambling.

For sure, Trading Bitcoin and Altcoins with knowledge is not a gambling. Because you use your skills, your knowledge to earn money from trading and investing. That's a work.  |

Investments and trading whether bitcoin or not requires skills, time and effort where as in gambling in return of the risk you can earn alot per game. |

Bitcoin is nit gambling. People who saying that is against to bitcoin. Maybe they are the enemies of bitcoin or they don't know how to used bitcoin or they are one of the people who want only become fame by pulling down bitcoin. To say that, they already know a lot from bitcoin. |

Gambling is when you are trying to bet your money and you don't have any vision to what can happen in the future because you are just randomly spending your money into that gambling and that is the worst way to make money for me and it is better to just invest in bitcoin or do trading because it has a higher chance of making money rather than gambling. |

Yess. Its not gambling although theres some field in bitcoin that using bitcoin in gambling but bitcoin is not gambling. Hence, it is a currency and many other fields about it. Just like mining and trading and investing and many more. |

Gambling too can't be thought as the way of just throwing the amount away. It's a form of hope to win, that make the user spend on it. Through gambling there are people who has gained big. In the early days people had a negative thinking that bitcoin is gambling due to the increased usage of bitcoin in the gambling industry. |
