Well I don't think that bitcoin is a kind of gambling. Its like capital market business in my view. When people invest without any market research and analysis then it is very common for them to be loser. But when a person does bitcoin trading with lots of research then he will frofit from this.  In other way when someone earn from different  bitcoin means then definitely it cant be termed as gambling. Here one earns with his perseverance and dedication and hard labour.

Of course its not. Yiu can earn bitcoin by gambling but bitcoin itself was not. Bitcoin is a type of digital currency which you can earn bg different ways and used it any where you want. I think the reason there are a lot of arguments here is because we define gambling in a different sense. In fact, there are varying school of thoughts on this subject matter. First, you may use 'gambling' as a noun whereby it refers to a game of chance. Second, you may use it as a verb whereby it refers to an act of betting what you have on the premise of gaining more out of it. Whichever definition we settle for, I think there are valid reasons therefore because it actually depends on the usage. Hence, there is no point in arguing about it. But as for me, I think Bitcoin is a gamble because people put their money in it on the premise of multiplying their wealth. You may not be engaged in gambling per se but it is most likely close to it.

But that are two different things and Bitcoin is not necessary speculation, when I started using Bitcoin in 2013, my intention was to use it for receiving payments. PayPal gave me headaches, Bitcoin was the solution for these headaches.

Yes true, bitcoin is real because it is used for transactions, we can get bitcoins in various ways eg mining or trading, if anyone says bitcoin is gambling, they do not know what exactly bitcoin is.

I see many of users tried to name out for Bitcoins according to their understandings. But basically Bitcoin is no gambling nor a currency. Its a commodity, and which value increasing day by day exponentially.

Since Bitcoin launch, due to additional advantage of Bitcoins as it can be divided to into multiple division. At initial stage it was great campaigning with gambling for Bitcoins as it was best way to gamble with Bitcoin. But its now not affordable to gamble with bitcoins.

Every commodity on the stock exchange could thus be rendered a big gamble if bitcoin is a gamble because they are all subject to speculation due to their volatile nature and so bitcoin shouldn't be singled out as a gamble because they are all being regulated by the demand  and supply on the market and these makes them all come with risk sometimes because they are meant to change in value from time  to time.

But aren't all investments a gamble? People can easily make a case for bitcoin being a gamble just like it is putting money into start ups or buying stocks and shares in other companies. You can either make money or lose some or all of it so I'd say investing is a type of gambling whether you want to admit it or not.

I think it depends on the usage given by the holder if its gambling or not, if you run horse races with your bitcoins of course its gambling, likely what you do with the FIAT.

From my experience both are different things . I also wouldn't gamble any Bitcoins unless I had over 50 Bitcoins that I can just throw away. There is a lot of people losing money from gambling.
