ERC standards to move Ethereum forward? ERC-20, ERC-223, ERC-721.

ERC-20 is a well-known term in the Ethereum and ICO community.

For the last few years, I’ve been consulting and contributing to various teams, helping them with token sale projects. Therefore, I had an opportunity to take a closer look at ERC standards, analyse and compare them.

The information below should be valuable for every investor and ICO entrepreneur to understand what is hiding behind ERC standards.

What does ERC mean?
ERC stands for Ethereum Request for Comments. An ERC is authored by Ethereum community developers in the form of a memorandum describing methods, behaviors, research, or innovations applicable to the working of the Ethereum ecosystem. It is submitted either for peer review or simply to convey new concepts or information. After core developers and community approval, the proposal becomes a standard.

Therefore, as a result, we have a set of standards or proposals (e.g. for tokens). Actually, these rules are simple set of functions that Smart Contract should implement. In return, contracts, implementing the standard can be used via a single interface. The best example is ERC-20 standard. All Smart Contracts implementing this standard, by default can be listed to crypto exchanges without any extra technical work.

A few information:

1) This bounty campaign was closed on 5th December. It seems that some people don't read and think that this campaign is still running. To avoid this in the future, this bounty thread will be locked after this message. We don't want people to think that this campaign is still running while WePower team launched a second bounty campaign.

2) Like most bounty campaign participants never stop to complain and whine like if we owe them money, spreadsheets will be put in private mode. Both WePower team and me are tired of receiving inquiries about "bad calculations" issues. We won't discuss it anymore because our calculations are 100% correct. Period.
WePower team is kind of busy, so a new rule will be implemented: every person who will contact them on any of their channels to ask them questions related to the first bounty campaign (managed by Sylon), this campaign calculations, this campaign payments, etc. will be removed from the spreadsheets and not receive any token. Act like civilised people if you want to be paid.

If you have a question not related to this point, just send me a PM and WAIT.

Spreadsheets will be put back in public mode a few time before the tokens distribution, i.e after WePower ICO end (end-February/early March).

You should also know that 90% of Facebook/Twitter campaigns participants did not follow the rules. Rules were very clear: you had to post ONE post in this thread and update it on a frequently manner with your new facebook and twitter links. Some people just flooded this thread with their links (we only analyzed first registration posts, so these links flood posts were not counted).
I also specified that these registrations posts links should be sent to a Google Form link. Only around 100 persons did follow the process.

I am Sylon and have my own campaign applying rules. I am not one of these other bitcointalk managers.

Next time, try to not be greedy and read every line of the bounty campaign threads if you want to receive bounty tokens.

Announcement: WePower first bounty campaign bounties tokens have all been distributed. Thus, spreadsheets have been put back in public mode.

We want to give you some assurances and clarifications about the distribution process:


Signature campaign

Black marks mean that you have been banned from this campaign and will receive 0 tokens.
We don't accept multiple accounts owned by the same group/person(s).


Twitter campaign

As usual, we received massive cheating attempts. We have removed A LOT of cheating/farming/spamming accounts, most likely owned by cheaters groups. We don't accept cheaters.

A red mark means that you're account has been suspended, or that it is untraceable; thus, you will not receive any stake.
A pink mark means that you provided a wrong twitter @username and that we have not been able to analyze your account because of that; thus, you will not receive any stake.

Don't contact me if your account has been removed or if you think that the counts are false. It has been proven that Twitter system can cancel your retweets/likes when you keep retweeting and liking massive amount of tweets, i.e behaving like a bot account. Twitter rules are very strict and against bots.


Facebook campaign

When we analyzed the data from the Facebook campaigns, it has been found that 99% of participants submits were not following the rules at all.
We specified in the thread that only one post has to be made and edited through time to add your Facebook content, but most of the participants kept making new posts on the thread and, hence, not following the rules.
Most of the participants did not provide any bitcointalk Facebook campaign registration post, but Facebook profiles links, Facebook shares links, etc. while this was not what we asked in the rules.

We did not write these rules for fun, they are strict and represent a protocol that you have to follow if you want to be eligible for the campaign. By not following the rules, you are not eligible to receive any tokens.

Thus, taking into consideration that almost nobody followed the Facebook campaign rules, it has been decided that no tokens from the Facebook bounty campaign will be distributed.


Other campaigns

Keep in mind that WePower first bounty campaign changed a lot of time its content. Some campaigns that ended as not productive at all or not worthwhile have been removed from the campaign. WePower team made several posts over time to let all of you know about this.

Accordingly, these campaigns have been cancelled and no bounties tokens have been sent. This is the case with Reddit campaign, LinkedIn campaign, etc.
