I've just checked some tracking numbers and am happy to note that the 2 US customers who ordered on June 3rd have received their coins on June 10th and 11th.

Happy about pretty fast shipping (7, 8 days is quite good to overseas).

Will you sell these?

http://casascius.wordpress.com/2013/06/27/silver-coins-now-here/

1ozAg + 1 BTC = 1.9 BTC if you order a roll of 20.

If you want, I pre order one with you, if the price is to high to cover.
Willing to pay up to 2 BTC in advance to cover the costs Smiley

edit: any update on DeadTerra's shipment?

Of course we are considering this.

However, there are 2 main problems with this:

  • The price is pretty damn high. I can kind-of understand. Silver-price was probably higher when Mike bought the coins from the mint and they want money, too (although there is this thing called hedging, but that incurs cost, too). But BTC 1.90 is a bit hefty. Subtracting 1 BTC bitcoin value and 0.2 BTC silver value still leaves 0.7 BTC. That makes a $60-70 premium over the "combined physical price" over the 1 oz 1 BTC silver rounds. He used to sell the 1 BTC brass coins for 1.12 (100 pcs.) and that was when bitcoin was worth $10 (making the premium ~ $12).
End-customers are supposed to pay BTC 2.50 (and that's probably close to what I'd have to sell to you guys for, see next point. That's a BTC 1.3 premium (USD 120!!!) ?!? (premium is probably the wrong word, what I mean is: price of item in excess of worht of underlying physical materials). Yes that includes all the shipping and stuff, but I truly think it's extremely high and for that reason I'm reluctant to order. I don't want to sell overpriced product to my customers and I don't want to risk sitting on stuff doesn't have value unless I can sell it. (I don't mind, for example, sitting on 0.5 BTC brass coins where 80% of the value is in the bitcoin monetary value, so the maximum loss is 20%). But with these silver rounds, only about 40% of the value is in bitcoin and silver, the rest is "numismatic"). What do you guys think about Mikes pricing?

  • VAT Tax issues: I have to pay VAT import tax 19% on the silver value (if all goes well. On a coin shipment early this year customs almost made me pay 19% on the bitcoin value, too, not only the brass). We (jalaman & I) have this little company we could use to import the stuff. We'd also have to pay the 19% import tax, but we'd get that iback from the tax office at the end of the year because we're re-selling, not consuming (this is a consumer tax). However, that would require us to bill you guys correctly (in EUR/USD, including VAT (in germany: 19%)) which seems quite a hassle. I don't even know how it would work with countries like Sweden, France or Austria. For extra-EU countries it would probably be easier (at least for us) because we just bill with no VAT Tax and the end customer has to fulfil his tax obligation on his own account. Does anyone have experience with such things?

I"m willing to pay a large premium, so just work with pre orders Wink
Ask for 2 BTC in advance and define the complete price after the taxes and the profit you take. I really want to have a 1 BTC silver coin Smiley

There will also be 19% import VAT tax to germany. Silver coming from US is very likely to get spotted by customs.

Talking to Mike wether he can make a separate invoice for shipping showing only silver value + slight premium to reduce the target of that tax.
