Hi!
I got myself 5970 Black edition from XFX. It is not 4GB version it is 2GB. It works fine when playing games but I can't make it to mine. I can't install OpenCL. Well I can but I get msg that driver doesn't support OpenCL device. If I go to AMD and install last drivers I get BSOD... Any suggestions? When I click on update drivers it send me on AMD page so I guess I'm downloading from right location...
Thanks

Menage to manually force driver update to 12.104.0.0 but now I see 4 cores not 2. And 2 are runing with (1-0 and 1-1) KH and 2 are runing (0-0 and 0-1) 310MH but all errors... I don't get it... Any idea?

Well it did work and it didn't work. Now I get no errors only 2 cores but can't control the speed of the fan and I can only see one core temperature... 90... Auch... Any idea how to fix that?

Any idea how to fix that? oh, sorry. you need the drivers but not catalyst control center, it always screws up fan control control panel > programs and features > AMD catalyst control manager > change > uninstall manager > custom > check catalyst control center, and it should let you uninstall just that component, leaving your drivers intact you can probably uninstall it with that catalyst uninstall utility too, either way will work bios update might help, its worth a try, but I've never been able to get full control of fans on any ATI card with ccc installed. no idea why you only see 1 core temp, if both cores are working you can probably assume they're about the same temp

So up to 90 degrees it is on 30% then it starts to increase the speed... When mining it got up to 95 and then I had a crash... It has nothing to do with catalyst control center. You can't control fan with it...

are you sure it doesn't have anything to do with ccc? ive had this 30% fan problem on many generations of ati cards and uninstalling ccc always allows me to set fan speed with msi afterburner or some other program. did you try the bios update ? if bios update doesn't help and removing ccc doesn't help (if you haven't already) as a last resort you can try editing bios fan settings directly using RBE http://www.techpowerup.com/rbe/back up your original bios, and only attempt screwing with it if you have another video card you can use for display purposes incase you brick your 5970 and need to reflash it

And yes it was bios... I removed CCC and look at afterburner... Same problem. CGminer also couldn't changed anything... Then I googled it and found solution... Well known but it looked so strange when I saw 4 cores that I got so confused that I forgot about google... And then when I saw only one core temp and no fan I was sure something is wrong with the card.
