If you send ERC20 token to another ethereum address and the wallet doesn't support ERC20 tokens you will just see nothing. But, instead, these tokens will be belong to that address and, for example, if you import secret key of that address to the wallet that supports ERC20 tokens (for instance myetherwallet) you will be able to see and manage them.

Very easy answer, your token must be lost. From my experience was ever lost because the wallet received does not support alt which I send.

It's like sending cryptocurrencies to the wrong adress. You can try and it'll work, but you won't see it back.

It's good we have to be really careful before making transactions such as transfers and so forth
Save the address of your wallet and your key wallet to avoid / anticipate from negligence and loss.

Using a UTC file strengthened by a strong password is the best way ever to secure our wallets when using MEW instead of the private key. About tokens, it's easy to add a custom token to your ether wallet by provide the address of the new asset, its decimal and the name abbreviation. All those details can be easily found at https://ethplorer.io/ for any Erc20 token. New tokens are not shown in your wallet at MEW but when scanning it (address) at https://etherscan.io/ you can see all the tokens held in it; it is important to add each token details at MEW to be able to see and manage it. There are a lot of tutorials that can help noobs and many many articles about beginning with Ethereum. Just google it

If you have secret key of that wallet simply import that wallet to myetherwallet. Then you will see tokens are there.
If you cannot get secret key say good bye to your tokens.

No I don't think it's important to do that. You just need to wait MEW for adding the token.

My friend was a newbie at altcoin and I have a concern about what happened in his situation in the campaign but before that let me tell you a story: he doesn't get the mechanics in altcoin but, at first i told him the two wallet he can use waveswallet and myetherwallet which can be used storing a ethereum coin,the campaign was ethereum base, as i teaching my friend he do mistake about the campaign, Aventus campaign who is erc20 token, my friend does wrong in submitting a ethereum address instead of using myetherwallet he use the waveswallet ( because he does know that waveswallet doesn't support other token that erc20) and get the ethereum address there which mean he lost all the coin..

in this situation, is there any chance he can get the token back, or will be gone forever ?

As he pm the manager, it said that he must know how to use the ethereum works and looks like no chance of getting it back.

As i talk to him, he is willing to provide all the information needed at this situation like the waveswallet account that used in the campaign to check that this really happened and can't get the token.

We can see the token in the ethereum address he use ( waveswallet) i think there is a posibility of getting it?

It depends on what token is involved in your concern. If they are on the same network then the token is still there, it's just that your wallet is not supporting token transfers that's why it doesn't reflecting in the account.

Basically he use the waveswallet for getting a eth address and submit it to avt

Avt doesnt know that the address was from waveswallet and send the token to it

But when i see the avt token was visible in the eth address
When you go on etherscan and scan the waveswallet eth address, it means that the eth address of the waveswallet was also a erc20 supported but waveswallet site just dont just support?

I made the similar mistake. Blockchain.info started supporting ethereum but not ERC20 tokens and by mistake I sent the token to blockchain.info's Eth address instead of myetherwallet. I don't think blockchain.info gives private key so I think my tokens are lost forever.

As I know %99 chance that your coins are becoming lost. I am sure there are dozens of people everyday losing their coins. Which is actually very healthy for market prices. lol. It is truth.

If you send it to the wrong address it will be lost and can't be retreived. If you send it to the correct address then sometimes (with ERC20 tokens) you can add the coin to the wallet manually and then the coins will appear.

It’s really good question if your transferring the token from one platform to another like eth to bitcoin it won’t effect but when your transferring tokens to exchanges like erc20 to erc20 have to careful about token address in the exchange.

It seems if you give the address of the wallet that does not support the token to be sent of course the token will not be sent meaning you will not receive bitcoin. because of the address error from sending the token itself and I've experienced it. indeed this is very detrimental to me because until now I do not know if I can still fix the wrong address that I already sent. this should be a lesson for all of us to avoid making a second mistake so that we do not experience a second loss. I think we need to find information about an accurate wallet address with the token to be sent. look for highly accurate information from various sources on trustworthy internation sites

Sorry for your losses. One more thing to take note, don’t send ERC20 tokens to ETH address in an exchange. In this case, you won’t be able to recover the ERC20 tokens too.
