How much cpu dependant parts of equihash algorithm can affect mining performance ? especially when using low end cpu like core e8400 ?
I ask this because i know equihash also uses some cpu.and im planning to mine zcash with 4x r9 280

Are you sure that equihash uses CPU? Can you quote the source that it does? I have never seen it anywhere before. Also, I have read posts on the EWBF mining thread that use a pentium with approximately 16 GPUs on a mobo (if I remember correctly) and his hashrates do not seem to have a drop.

There are some zcash cpu miner like nheqminer, but cpu hashrate is very low. It will be negligible compared to gpu mining.

I meant when im mining with 4x r9 280 will cpu(low end) affect my performance because of some cpu dependant parts of algortihm ?
