Hello all,

My problem is this:

As you can see above, my "Accepted shares" values is a set of a very big value followed by one very much smaller in the parentheses. Is that normal? I've seen around people posting Accepted values like "60(60)" and I'm quite concerned something is going wrong and I'm loosing bitcoins because of that.

I have a pretty good technical background but I'm quite new to Bitcoin and it's jargon. I'm currently mining on Windows 7, with 2 nVidia 8800gts 512 (sucks I know..) workers, running on GUIMiner v2011-05-01 instances, connected to slush's pool, with no flags (haven't found anything for my card, if you know something please enlighten me). Also, I seem to be getting quite a lot of ADSL disconnects/reconnects mainly because of high cable noise in my area, so not much I can do about that. But I thought that the fact that my IP changes 1-2 times a day might be a clue to some of you. I also have ubuntu nutty 11.04 on the same machine as an alternative, if that is of any help for optimizations.

So, any insight on why my "Accepted" rate seems so odd, what it actually means and how I could make things better? Any help is much appreciated! Maybe I'll give a tip too, if you help me boost my mining rate significantly.  Smiley

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Pretty certain one is "total" and one is "current round". So the brackets one is smaller because it's based on the current block, but it's absolutely no cause for concern: the pool probably just moved on to a new block recently.

Kinda makes sense like that. Thanks for clearing that out.

The first number is the total since staring the miner, and the number in the parentheses is the number in the last hour.

Q: What does it mean in the summary panel when the shares say something like 1000 (150) accepted?
A: That means 1000 shares total were accepted, including 150 in the last hour.
