Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

The trolls are the ones that will make it out fastest. The rest is stuck here in limbo.

I disagree.  You'd be surprised but mods do check posts.

Quality and Quantity both go a long way.  I personally know that if you don't have shit posts, you will get released early.

In the end the people getting the benefit are the patient ones, which if it a spammer, at least they won't be a spazz spammer lol

Bonus Tip for Newbies - Reply to every post on the first page here with actual content.  If the conversation doesn't interest you, pretend it does and let's see if you can participate instead of talk about post counts!

It seems like the post requirement is never constant. I thought it was 10 post and 4 hours.

if spam is the problem, why encourage people to post even more? Do you have infinite hard disk space?

Normally I don't like posting on things that doesn't really interest me (16 hours, and this is my 3rd post, the first noe was some time before there was these stupid restrictions). But I read. And when there is an oportunity to reply to someone on an issue that actually interests me. I'd like to be able to do so.

I would never post this one for instance. But there you go. Stupid. but I do what you want.

Also I don't like being forced to doing things I don't find logical. We maybe relatively new to the forum. That doesn't mean you old timers can treat us like 16 year old kids (no offence to 16 year olds).

This is a public forum ran by people who choose to make the rules.  You are coming on their turf, they will treat you, me, and everyone like 12 year old kids if necessary to keep the bullshit in line.

Browse around, 100 posts may not be the best answer, but right now you have to keep the Newbies out of regular discussions or hell would break loose.

i'll add another pointless post to add to my count....

high counts promote more trolling and spamming..... i've purposefully been posting useless shit like this and being a dick because I have nothing important to post about in order to meet whatever the current amount you need is

Well, if there are mods, they will be very busy.  This forum looks full of people who just stir others and/or spam.  Hard to find the worth-while information amongst the dross.  Still, there are some blatant frauds as well, but a lot of people tend to knock those down too.

Sad.

Have faith that impatient people and people abusing the established system that they signed up for will be weeded out over the course of as the mods come to it.  It's a sad fact that a lot of the mods have lives (most likely) so can't, and I hope never do, monitor this place all minutes of the day.

I enjoy these Newbie forums because I obviously get a kick out of people complaining that they can't reply to text on their screen in certain areas that they would have access to if they would just be active, I guess it's harder than it seems to .. write.. text.. relating.. to .. Bitcoin lol

I see the problem. But I don't see how this is the solution. There are people like Synaptic, replying to every post with obscenities. And people like me who read and don't say anything unless they think it will actually contribute to the discussion. Which behaviour you want to encourage?

I agree that it is not the solution, but it is a solution for now.  I see threads pop up with people complaining, few offer better solutions, so until then .. :/

As far as other users spamming, I am not sure of the person you talk about, but if they are doing it anywhere else other than the Newbie forum, I'm sure it won't last long.

Also, every post has a 'Report to Moderator' in the bottom right hand corner, I like a clean forum, I use it Smiley

Either way, I can tell, you'll be fine.  Find the Whitelist thread and request faster approval, going those means works as well.

PLEASE PM one of the mods if you see the same user repeatedly doing something like this. We are massively understaffed and do what we can, but often things like this will slip through.

Also, the current requirements are working out well. They won't be changed.
