Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
so I got that 2Pac thumb ASIC miner and tried to set it up. I use the special cgminer build by VH. I learned how to enter the correct stratum/pool address and I installed WinUSB with Zadiq, which works correctly. The device is not listed as a COM device, but as a USB device. I run the .exe as an administrator. My batch file is in a folder called cgmine and that's where the .exe is located, too. The batch file is called "start mining.bat.txt" and it contains the following: "Start /D "C:\cgmine" cgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://stratum.slushpool.com:3333 -u sohnes.worker1 -p anything" . The device is listed in cgminer, but not accessible, I always get "failed usb_init".
[EDIT] I deleted the .txt file extension, now it's only .bat, but that did not change anything.
As you can see, I tried to give you as many details as possible. If you need any more info, feel free to tell me.
Thanks in advance for any advice whatsoever.  Smiley
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I had the same issue a couple of days ago after an overnight failure. I rebooted the machine, inserted the 2Pac, ran Zadiq as Administrator and had it reinstall the driver. Upon completion I unplugged the stick, replugged it, and ran cgminer. It detected and initialised it and began hashing.

Okay, I ran Zadiq successfully as an admin, unplugged the device, rebooted the system and the results have not changed. Cgminer says: Started cgminer 4.10.0
failed usb_init
Waiting for USB hotplug devices or press q to quit
Need to specify at least one pool server (Which I did afterwards, but still failed usb_init).
Now, when go to USB options and want to detect/hotplug devices, it asks me for a number. Which would be a correct range of values to enter? Or does this not have anything to do with my present problem?

btw it the device shows up when I check the list of devices.
[EDIT] I also found the "write config" option. Obviously I had none before, so I tried it. Cgminer then generated a config, but it was empty, of course resulting in an error. Might this have to do with the prob?

Folks, you DO know that there is an official 2PAC support thread right? All questions like this have been asked and answered numerous time there already.

Try using SEARCH perhaps?
