Absolutely yes, It is illegal to plant your own cannabis for self-consumption. Legal authorities do not allow people's some needs like using drugs. In my country, planting cannabis is one of the most horrible crimes and person who plants cannabis can stay in prison for a long time.

It depends on where you are residing right now. There are places that prohibits planting cannabis. But there are countries where cannabis use is being regulated, so if you are there then you can use it.

Here in the Philippines, it is prohibited, and if you are caught, then you will surely go to jail. Especially now that the government is focusing on drugs.

Hello @Dannawonder i would love to know where you are posting from before i can offer my advice on this one. Marijuana or cannabis containing products have been found to be medicinal at lower dosage while detroiter at higher dosage. So if you are gonna do it silently in your backyard and toast yourself to death then that is your problem. The best way is to be firm enough to manage your consumption

It depends on your country if its legal. There are people who are dependent on weed for medical consumption and in my opinion, they can plant weed so that they don't need to go to places where they purchase weed.  In our country, marijuana is not legal yet but there are groups filing stuffs for it to be legalized. Hopefully, it will be legal since I have a cousin who was dependent on it and it will be easier for him to purchase it if it was legalized.
