I don't think so. To reach this goal the price must increase $1700 yet and that is a lot of progress for 2 months in my opinion. If BTC is able to reach $5000 it's already a big achievement. I think this prediction was being adopted by some people months ago when BTC was increasing really fast, they were very optimistic about it, but now that things seem more stable the scenario changed a bit.

To me such an increase is not impossible. we have seen a much higher movement than that. you can see that bitcoin is unexpected. any news can affect the bitcoin price easily. such as the news about the Chinese state that bans on bitcoin, bitcoin prices decrease by more than 1000 $ and now prices are back to normal. this is proof that we can not predict the bitcoin price. anything can happen and everything is like a miracle.

And there are instances that bitcoin can go up by $1000 in 24 hours. Yes, predicting bitcoin price is too hard. Many other factors contributed to the price swing. Its only about $600 away from $5000 and we still have months left before the end of the year so it really possible that we can breach it once more. Its just a matter of time. This week, bitcoin have seen a highs and lows. If it remains bullish on the next coming days, no doubt that $5000-$6000 is possible.

But we don't know what the hard fork could bring in November. However, I'm still gonna stay positive and see bitcoin around $6000 or even more at the end of the year.

if from this october until december we hear many good news, then i am sure that we can reach $6k by year-end but unfortunately we are seeing the fork in november and i think the price will go down like before. there is too many news in out there and we don't know which is true and false news and its just makes people become panic. but if for $6k in the next year then the possibility is wide open as we know bitcoin price will always increase after correction price is happen.

At present we're close to the days of $4500, when the same is reached we'll go further speculating about the same to reach $5000. This continues growing with minor fluctuations which is to gain resistance. This will further make the price reach high and by the year end can expect to reach $6000 with the year end increase.

It really depends a lot on how the markets react to the November hard fork, but if it goes well then there is absolutely no reason why we cannot achieve a level as high as $6000, or potentially even more if hard fork goes well.

It's less than a 40% climb, we've seen bitcoin rise by much more than that is just 1 month's time. We've got time to work with, and if market conditions continue to develop into a bull trend then it's definitely a possibility.

Then that’s a good news, but is it enough?. Because I’m expecting much higher than that. So in the end it’s either CNN is wrong or I’m just exaggerating about bitcoin and its price.

6000$ can be achievable only this November alone so after the fork as always a bullish run of prices will be active again as the same of what happened last August. 6500$ to 7000$ is possible at the end of this year.

No matter what, we do agree or not, each opinion and speculation is good way of expressing our trust and believe on bitcoin and to is future.

It's a very nice news if bitcoin can really hit $6000 before 2017 will end, I am positive to this I know bitcoin in unpredictable but given the fact it can appreciate higher than anyone could expect. If the prices reaches a new all time high by year end we can expect a wild 1st quarter in 2018. CNN wow  that is one of the unlikely sources I expected to hear such price speculations from, and to be honest its not rocket science that we shall expect a rise towards the end of the year as most people spend the most money around this time world over

There hasn't been much speculation of the hard fork but if Bitcoin Gold (BTG) will also be an airdrop it will most likely give people extra cash to  buy assets like bitcoin from the free money. I anticipate a positive reaction from BTC in this upcoming fork.

Yes its possible, bitcoin can reach over $6k by end of this year and may be over $10k by next year. We have already seen an increase of 400% this year so it might not be hard for bitcoin to cross over $6k anytime soon. I would like to point to the opposite, but I think we will crash somewhere along november, and of course, the only people to blame will be every single idiot involved in yet another hardfork scam. It happened in the past, this time may happen again. I would like to see more companies rejecting the segwit2x NYA to feel more comfortable come november, but there's still a big chunk that haven't said anything.

The hardforkers are determined and they have a big ego, they will fork no matter what happens, it all comes down to bitcoin users to contact everyone supporting S2X and telling them to drop their support. Take action if you want to avoid an unnecessary crash possibly during an ATH.

Yeah I agree with you. But let's just hope for the best that the upcoming hardfork will definitely help the price to go uptrend. But one thing is sure that FUDS are everywhere again and greediness will happen.

I definitely agree with this. There's a huge possibility that before this year end, Bitcoin will reach the 6k mark even if without China and especially if the next hardfork will be more successful or even as successful as the previous one. The hardfork last august made Bitcoin's valu to reach 4k mark from 2800 in just few weeks. And as I've said, if the fork will be successful, same thing could happen that will make Bitcoin's value to reach 6000.

they make these predictions but do not give details of why they believe in these forecasts, the price is struggling to surpass the $5000 and these guys make predictions of $6000. it seems that they forget the events of November where I think the price will fall and even December the price will fight to stay. maybe next year is possible to reach $6000, I will say after 3 months of next year. But for this year I very much doubt that this will happen

The only thing that can negatively affect the price of bitcoin in the near future is the next split that will occur in November. But, if the price of bitcoin is kept at a high level, by the end of the year we can see 6000 dollars

For me for sure bitcoin price will reach 6k dollars. So if you have extra money in your pocket its better if you invest now in bitcoin and for sure before end of this year 2017 you will earn some profit.
