JFYI it is very hard (and sometimes impossible) to export mining hardware from Russia via DHL and other courier services.
I was in real trouble trying to send Icarus boards to China for trade-in.

What did you list it as on the export forms and did you include the customs classification code? It can be tedious but with some wax to grease the skids and extremely accurate documentation it can be done. We have fall back plans in the event that we cannot ship them out via a carrier; or have significant problems in doing so. |

Thats totally unfair for people that are new to this and want to get experiment with BitCoin.
I dont have BitCoins but i do want to buy this device and pay via PayPal or another method.
Is that possible?

Hi, please see Q#1 and 3 in our FAQ section (2nd post). I fully understand the nature of risk in what we are offering given we don't control the supply chain from end to end. Risking 30 BTC is not for everyone and these forums are littered with scams, but the best we can offer is to fully refund our profit margin in the event metabank/bitfury turn out to be a scam or a failed venture. Hi xristoskostouros, I hear you, I personally missed out on an Avalon purchase for the exact same reason, as in some cases it can take days to transfer funds from a bank account to a bitcoin exchange, to then buy the equipment, and by that time all the equipment has been sold - which is very likely what will happen with this offer as well. Q#1: If it turns out that metabank and the bitfury asic are a scam, will you refund our money?
A#1: If it turns out metabank is indeed perpetrating a scam and all funds sent to them are lost; we will take a loss on any onsite incidental expenses (Employees, Plane Tickets, Rent, etc) incurred and refund the remainder of your transaction to your bitcoin address. Unfortunately we cannot take responsibility for the actions of anyone but ourselves. The amount refunded should be roughly 12 bitcoins per device. Illegal. We would be purchasing the unit off YOU. If your supplier is a scam, that's not our responsibility. I would be suing YOU, your company and anyone else involved. |

Again, unfortunately there is nothing we can do if the asic is indeed a scam. We are simply providing a proxy service to order the unit in your name, receive it, and process/send the unit to your location. But you do bring up a good point; we will have our lawyer draw up a contract of sale stating liabilities on each side (seller, buyer) for every order to sign and return. |

Heh, it does now that you mention it, but I don't want to post a high res picture of myself. I'm not that pretty to look at, besides, if it was a cardboard cut-out, surely Yifu would have removed the towel off his shoulder before mass production of cardboard cut outs being distributed globally. ;-) |

I believe we are offering the lowest price thus far, and yes, while shipping is a bit expensive, there's also other overhead costs: plane tickets to/from Russia, rent of a secure office space, hiring of employees to receive, test & re-ship units, our time to co-ordinate all of this. Cheers, Luis |

FWIW, I've known digitalmagus and senseless informally on IRC for some time, and things seem to be in order for this (the weakest link IMO is Metabank.ru, whom I've never heard of before).
The photo at Bitcoin Conference does appear to me to be really there - I think right by the entrance (which would mean the booth visible to the left is BFL/BitPay/BCMagazine).
I plan to support BFGMiner for/on these (though the question of interface specifications is still in the air AFAIK), and have purchased one for development.
