Will the electric car destroy the petrol car?

Charging the cars will take a lot of time and you can't drive more than 500 km with a charged one..

With gasoline you can make more miles

This is a major disadvantage with electric cars. And the 500 km range is available only with the Tesla cars. The other electric cars are having a range of 150 km to 300 km, depending on the battery capacity. It can take up to 8 hours to fully charge the battery and it needs replacement every 3-4 years. These are some of the most important things which convinces people not to buy an electric car.

There is major portion of society which will not afford the electric car. I think the electric car will make comport in our lives but there is a space available for petrol car also. Petrol is also a powerful fuel which are mostly consuming in machines.

With the temperature of the world getting higher and higher each day, switching from the fossil fuel powered cars to the electric car is the only to go or we will be dooming ourselves and the next generation if we don't do something about it . China has already said that they will be transitioning from gas powered cars to electric cars which in my opinion is good for the entire world, I hope other countries follow suit as well.

Total nonsense, as long as most cities power plants are run on coal. You are essentially just burning coal in your "electric car."

So long as electric cars are much more environmentally friendly than petrol i would totally wish it would. I watched a documentary a few years back about electric cars. That time there wasn't much charging stations and the cars themselves are slow. But i do hope we can make this and let the petrol be outdated

I really really hope they do because petrol has caused soo many problems in human history. It is the cause of war, famine, and overall dictatorships in this world. We need to get to a more earth friendly, people friendly solution

I think electric cars will destroy the petrol cars.

As what happened in mobile phone market, if it is more useful, it will soon overtake the market.
And electric cars have some strong points.

Easy to make, eco friendly, quiet.

And its demerits are getting fewer and fewer.

I'll have to visit that huge flat lithium salt area in Bolivia (or close) before it gets converted in to electric car batteries.

Maybe maybe oil prices will come down and $10,000+ lithium battery bank replacements will make people realize that they aren't saving money in many situations with electric cars and this fad dies. Then then the electric car will contiue to be just a rich man's toy that performs well, just like a car that takes 93 octane fuel that gets 8MPG.

Lately there is a much talk about electric cars and their preformances and their economic effect. I dont know maybe I am old fashioned but It is maybe not only about driving car but there is something else in the car. I like oldtimers and everything abour cars. But can you imagine BMW car on electric power? I really cant beacuse there is something in petrol smell and how the car sounds when you push that gas pedal. It is like orgasm.

The world oil mafia have been making sure a thing like that wouldn't happen. And they will continue to do their best. It's hard to imagine what it would take to really be able to fight them on this and win... Even if it happens and russians, arabs and corporations all over the world are somehow made to lose, it will take dozens of years. Am I too sceptical, though??

The Oil companies are probably some of the biggest companies and have the deepest pockets. They are also known for being able to influence political decisions (along with the Defence manufacturers as in the Iran, Iraq wars). So yeah, its going to be really difficult to completely sideline them.
I don't see a major change unless somehow they move there humungous funds to generating non-renewable energy and decide that its more profitable for them to push electric cars to have a market for that energy being generated. That'd be glorious to have.

Given enough time, probably.  Though even if it becomes the major mode of transportation in the first world, the third world like it always does will lag behind and it will take a really long time before the entire world switches over.

Electric cars are supposed to use a lot less fossil fuels to operate and therefore we can say that they are much more environmentally friendly than the petrol cars. But at the same time, we need to remember two important factors. First is the source of electricity. If the power is sourced from thermal power-plants, the the effect is reduced. Also, you need to remember that the battery needs replacement every 2-3 years.

There is no way that efficiency of this..

A) coal burning ---> transmission lines ---> Li batteries ---> electric motors

will equal this ...

B) gasoline ---> car engine ---> car moves

There isn't anything "good" or "green" about A.

because It expensive
it has Risk
it cant be so much effort-able
it reduce the capacity of electricity
it has restriction not for every one
it cant be long lasting like petrol in lieu  of  mechanical performance

petrol help to increase sustainability machine but electricity cant provide like petrol ....
