The majority of the Ethereum community at that time supported the hard fork. But a minority of users were against the hard fork, so they continued on the old blockchain and called themselves “Ethereum Classic”.

Ethereum Classic’s blockchain is the same in every way with Ethereum’s until Block 192000, where the hard fork was applied.

Ethereum Classic (ETC) is also a decentralized programmable blockchain like Ethereum. And like ETH, ETC is traded on exchanges and offers the same functionality of decentralized apps and smart contracts as Ethereum (ETH). It also has the same smart contracts language called Solidity.

ETC is basically the same as ETH.

ETC to ETH is like Bitcoin Cash of BTC. I love both coins,  both ETH and ETC will pump in the next few weeks.

i disagree. it was not at all the majority versus minority. there may have been more people supporting the fork only because a lot of them lost money due to DAO bug and they wanted their money back but there still were a lot of others who believed that just because you lost money due to a "feature" of the platform you shouldn't hard fork it.
and interesting enough that was the only time they did it because of money loss. there has been a lot of other incidents similar to DAO which led to millions of dollars lost but since the foundation was not on the losing side they never said anything about any fork.

Ethereum Classic is an open-source, computing platform based on blockchain technology. It provides a value token which is used to pay users for products and services.

The question is still given to the miners. I think someone who supports ETC must have their reasons, and that's why ETC is kept, not discarded

If your Ethereum has stolen, for your Ethereums not to be used by hackers.
A fork coin produced to made for provide security.

I think it's very logical.

Ethereum Classic is an open-source, public, blockchain-based distributed computing platform featuring smart contract (scripting) functionality.
It provides a decentralised Turing-complete virtual machine, the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), which can execute scripts using an international network of public nodes.
Ethereum Classic also provides a value token called "classic ether", which can be transferred between participants, stored in a cryptocurrency wallet and is used to compensate participant nodes for computations performed.
The classic ether token is traded on cryptocurrency exchanges under the ticker symbol ETC.
Thank Wiki for the information.

I think it's very logical.

As far as I seen till now, all forks no matter which coin, both previous and new coin have value. So your logic may not withstand. Hackers can still sell old coins and make money.
Also is is nearly impossible situation when whole blockchain of coin gets hacked. Generally some users or website get hacked. I don't think non-affected members will support fork to help affected members without any reason.
Now third situation. Suppose a coin get hacked. Now if fork happens afterwards, hacker too have supply of new coins. Hence idea of fork fails.

So I don't think it's logical.

Hard Fork version of etherum 2nd  is a topic controversial, the community Etherum was split into two. ETC was born here
ETC is a cryptocurrency created from blockchain of Etherum. ETC still carries the same features ETH, such as the deployment of smart contracts and distributed applications
