The past few days have been very busy... IOHK has spooled up the Shelley Testnet, then a Mainnet Candidate, then a Shelly Testnet 2. Each of those "genesis" chains requires complete rebuilding of wallets and stake pools. There have been many up until 1 or 2 AM nights learning the nuts and bolts necessary to successfully host a stake pool.

We've been there the whole time, creating and re-creating our stake pool nodes, obtaining test ADA (usually through polite, broad "please send me some tADA" comments) and minting blocks. We've been very engaged and involved in the Cardano stake pool operator community, watching as things unfolded, and provided some tips and a walkthrough of creation for other pool operators. In short... we're getting our feet wet and learning the ropes.

Throughout this endeavor, our Azure-based Linux virtual machines have been rock-solid and dependable, as guaranteed by Microsoft and we are very pleased. As an FYI, although Amazon Web Services is the largest public cloud, Microsoft has the most security certifications, feature set, and largest global distribution (>150 data centers globally).

We will continue to stay involved, with the plan being to be there on day one when Cardano mainnet is launched.

Cardano Virtual Summit Overview




During the times of COVID-19, many businesses had to close and some had to adapt. Conferences and events all around the world were canceled, but many of them moved to online. The cryptocurrency industry is among those who found new ways for communication, education, and networking.

The Shelley update was implemented to the Cardano mainnet and the Shelley hard fork is expected on July 29. Staking functions should be available on August 18, 2020, and everyone interested in cardano staking will be able to do it from Daedalus or Yoroi wallets.

No one knows for sure how much value ADA can achieve at the end of this year, maybe at the end of this year the ADA coin can reach $ 0.2 USD. but this is only a prediction, it could be in the next few months ADA experienced a correction, because in recent months the price of ADA coins continues to increase

I am being cautiously optimistic that by GOGUEN launch we can see a 30 cent coin. I am being very non moonish about my prediction but if it goes even higher, I will be very pleased. I have slowly been accumulating ADA since it was 3.8 cents so my dollar cost average (DCA) for ADA is around 5.3 cents which is not too bad. I do hope that there will be mass adoption once GOGUEN Ships as Shelley is mainly for staking in this ERA. I hope to stake mine so the capital grows over time for the long haul. For me ADA is the next ETHEREUM.

Good plan and good prediction. I think many projects announced on the Cardano Virtual summit can move the price even higher. When you see that so many opportunities exist and so many talented people work on them - price is the secondary aspect.

Big News: Cardano plans ERC20 Converter and Cross-Chain-Communication

Cardano is still successfully on schedule, so the hard fork for July 29th is still on. On August 18th, all Stake Pool Operators and Pioneers will migrate to the Shelley Mainnet and start producing blocks. This is one of the most important and difficult steps, so Hoskinson is marking this date as an important milestone in a new video update.

What is going on with the  incentivized testnet? Is it still working? I delegated my stake to one of the pool ( which seems to be active all the time), but more recently,   got no reward for it. Should I cancel delegation/re-delegate to another pool/ wait?

ITN is closed for now, staking on the mainnet will start from August 18

When can I start receiving ADA coin stakes? I have a certain amount of Cardano coins in Yaroi wallet.

I do enjoy Charles's whiteboard sessions and looks like Voltaire is coming out in August, testnet wise and I do think by the end of the Year we will have Goguen as well. For me personally its in the GOGUEN launch that will dramatically change the landscape. Although ETHEREUM has the first to market advantage where smart contracts and DAOS/DEFI technology have been unleashed, I do believe Cardano can take a big slice of the marketshare and with ETH gas now being very expensive, I think that many projects will transfer onto the CARDANO blockchain as they are building a perfect decentralized monetary and governance system. They took their time but they are doing it right.

What the rest of the year will look like for Cardano (ADA)

The hard fork that will deploy Cardano’s staking era, Shelley, onto mainnet, is scheduled for Jul. 29. Unless a security audit deems any fixes to the node are necessary, the date will remain unchanged and mark the beginning of a whole new era for Cardano.
