The most common cause for poverty is overpopulation and the poor have been having dozens of children and refusing to practise family planning since time immemorial. And the worst part is that they believe that it is the duty of the rich people to feed them and their dozens of children. And in turn, this leads to violent confrontations between the rich and the poor.

Common cause can be lack of education and job. Sometimes, others are just keep on telling that they can't go for work because they can't, inability to read and write are some of their main reason why they can't look for a job.

But for me, attitude really affects poverty, if someone will think that she/he cannot do and look for a good job for living, well that will be a problem.

There are a lot of reason why all of the country have a non ending poverty issue. One of it is the over population, some country they average member of a family is 5 members and in that 5 members, the father is the only who works and earning only just a minimum rate. You think it can sustain their daily needs and wants. Next is the employment rate, in 2-3 person only out of 10 have a job.

Lack of Skills = Skills needed for success. For example in the process of making products and services that can have "selling power" to the crowd. Making money from your skills is very easy to do nowadays as long as there is intention and interest in a particular field to be learned and developed. Conversely, if someone is reluctant to hone skills then it is difficult to achieve success and compete with others.

Lack of education I believe. If everybody in this world got a good education and could read and write then we would be a much better off I think. I also think that being educated would help raise the standard of living in any

given country. Often times the poorest countries are the worst at education. Coincidence? I think not.

It is also because there is no enough job and unemployment.
Some Government officials are corrupt,
 they are just concern with their self not for the development of the country.

In my own opinion, the common cause of poverty are:

1. Population - Our population nowadays is too high, my country is too over populated. As you can see, sometimes the one who has many children is in the class E sector, people are those with no homes or in the informal settlement. Sometimes they have 6 children or more than that that's why their income didn't sustain the needs of there family even the basic needs.
2. Lack of education and Lack of knowledge
3. No Job or Work to sustain the needs of the family
4. Corruption
5. Laziness

Poverty is due to corrupt government officials and their allies.  They Steal funds that are intended for government projects.  They used these money for their personal interest.

There are numerous factors that impact poverty and i think you can't just generalise them all. You have to take each country / area / demographic case by case.

Historical factors, political factors, societal, lack of education, corruption of governments are the main ones.

I think that one of the main causes of poverty in most places is tendency of people to sometimes stay where they are as long as they are surviving. Tjough not always, there might also be a time wherein employment is not possible due to large volume of graduates and it gives unemployment to a lot of people.

Because of the single biggest problem most of humanity faces, stupidity.  Most people just aren't that intelligent.  Pretty much any problem you can think of when you're dealing with a large amount of people can be traced back to this not so pleasant fact.

You don't need to do too much R&D to find out the reasons for poverty. The number one cause is over-population. When some uneducated guys are producing dozens of children each, you can't expect them to get educated and get good jobs.

The common caused of poverty are lack of self discipline,laziness,lack of knowldge, being not interested to change or contentment in the lives they are living.

Some of the country unable to provide food for themselves, country in africa has a bad weather and the water supply is very limited, so they cant plant anything, and they dont have any valuable resources to be traded, but in some country the poverty is caused by the government corruption, laziness and the over population that stuck in a city

Regardless what people think, poverty is sometimes determined by the location of the individual, there is no way that People born in the Amazon forest and People born in the Dubai Royal family can be said to have an equal start in life. Locations is very important when we talk about success.

I think the common caused of poverty is the poor economy of a country. If the economy of a country is rich , there may no poverty , and even caused poverty is the corruption of government and lack of support to their people , and even people themselves is the caused why poverty occured because of their laziness to find a job , to feed their family.

Whatever the causes of war and political upheaval, it is clear that safety, stability and security are essential for subsistence and, beyond that, economic prosperity and growth. Without these basics, natural resources cannot be harnessed individually or collectively, and no amount of education, talent or technological know-how will allow people to work and reap the benefits of their labor. Laws are needed to protect rights, property and investments, and without legal protections, farmers, would-be entrepreneurs and business owners cannot safely invest in a country’s economy. It is a telling sign that the poorest countries in the world have all experienced civil war and serious political upheaval at some point in the 20th century, and many of them have weak governments that cannot or do not protect people against violence.
