it needs to have demand and not just a token when we can send and receive, it has to be utilized in the platform for it to have some use and demand.

This is fake, usually the team will spread the news on twitter if they are listed somewhere

Before accusing people of posting fake info, please try to do the following:

Check that the website is the real etherdelta (not a phishing site like etherdalta...)
Check that the contract address is the correct one which you should know considering the way you responded

You probably need to read the whitepaper for that info;
If I still remember, the tokens will be used to unlock "pro" features on the platform
The other thing is token holders will get a % of the profits in eth, relative to the number of the tokens in each holding wallet every 3 months
