Hi there.

This is obviously for anyone who knows about the Ledger nano s.

So my ledger can only hold about 4 apps installed at one time. But I have various altcoins. My questions is this:

If I add an app, and put my coins onto it. Then delete the app to make room for another app and keep adding coins and deleting app, until I have all my coins onto the ledger.

When I go and re-add the apps will my coins still be there?

Or when I delete the app am I effectivley deleting my coins as well?

Not useful to only be able to hold 4 coins if you have like 20 different types.

Thanks.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Hello andyroo,

With your Ledger nano S, you can install or uninstall apps as many times as you want.
Yours coins are in the blockchains. Don't worry.

Just be carful not to lost your passphrase, or yours coins will be definitively lost.

Have a nice day.

Im curious on how you add apps to the nano s?

Are these just apps listed on their website/servers or are their other apps not listed on ledger website that can be added?

You need to use "ledger manager" app to install more apps to your device (also to update the firmware).

Others have already answered your question in this thread, but I did want to add that you should always test things out yourself before you do anything that might jeopardize your coins. You should try installing an app, deleting it, and then reinstalling it yourself to give yourself peace of mind.
