That answer is way too complicated, you can use the answer below by NXS, It's fast and doesn't require downloading anything. If your objective is to stop using the wallet by the way then you could just recover it to Electrum as I posted in the sticky thread.

Is there a specific reason why you need to try and apply that patch and recompile the project? As you 100% sure that you have a "beta 7" wallet that would require you to use that process?
