As a newbie, I'm trying to sweep my first paper wallet into Electrum, through the menu: Wallet / Private keys / sweep
I enter my private key 5Kj....etc, no spaces, checked the number numerous times, it is correct, but I just get the message:
No inputs found. (Note that inputs need to be confirmed)

What am I doing wrong? It must be something obvious!!

Seems the address is empty. Have you checked the balance of your paper address?
PS: "inputs" stands for "incoming transactions"

Doing an online check, my bitcoin wallet shows:

Total Received: 0.00296326

Total Sent: 0.00000000

Final Balance: 0.00296326

Total transactions: 1

So it does have a small value.

OK, that amount should be able to sweep. Is this transaction confirmed?

BTW would be better to move this topic here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=98.0

Hmm, then I don't know what can be wrong.
Might be issue with private key format (unsupported format)  ... but in this case I would expect some warning message from electrum.

Do you know in which format your prv. key is? (BIP38, WIF, mini)?
Mabe you can try it using other clients like coinomi, mycelium ... no need to perform the sweep (just to chek if prv. key shows you the relevant address and amount ).

Sorry, I'm just shooting ideas. My sweeps always went smooth, never experienced such issue.

The Private key started off life as encrypted BIP38, which I decrypted using the same bitaddress.org utility I'd used to originally create the paper wallet.
I am then trying to sweep the decrypted WIF private address 5K......

Sorted!
Evidentally I should have been using the "WIF compressed address", and not the "WIF address".
I'm not sure why, but, hey, it works!!

Thanks for taking the time to come back and post your outcome.  I was following on this thread and I definitely learned something here!  I have never had any issues either, but now I know one to look out for.  [smile]
