Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

If John Oliver said that the sky was blue, I would begin to doubt even that.

True. You can't believe everything you see on Television, especially by some COMEDIAN nobody who doesn't even have any coins or crypto.

Television was designed for entertainment and most of what is shown by media is sensationalized to attract more views and reactions. This is true not just for crypto but generally everything as well. Always take things with a grain of salt and think critically before making a decision. DYOR.
