Well take the time to have a browse and read up. There's a newer video than that, and a big open day the next two days. So hopefully there will be more clarity.

But asking other people to do your research for you is dangerous and irresponsible...

Just a minute I'll jump in a time machine and go to the future to get the answer to your questions.

Lots of debate in the other 3 or 4 threads you should read them and then try to make a decision on risk/reward based on your on tolerance level, personal assessment and personal criteria. No one can answer your questions accurately, but what I am watching is yet another company with 0 product taking full payment pre orders (or an interest free loan IOW).  Way to much like BFL for me to gamble on that's for sure.

I'm in the same boat!  We should know more as the week progresses.  There is supposed to be an openday tomorrow for people to tour the facility and another openday next Monday.

IMO kncminer will be using preorder money to develop their ASIC, as 28nm development is very expensive.

Since they are using a 28nm process node, they could very well run into problems in the development that push back their fairly optimistic shipping date. My understanding of ASIC development is the smaller the process node used, the more risky/challenging development is.

I do believe they are a real company, with true intent to release ASIC products to consumers. However, the question of the day is how long will it take them to do this? That's anybody's guess at this point.

The earliest they will ship is September, and I have serious doubts that they will meet that optimistic target date. By September, there is a good chance that the market will be flooded with inexpensive Avalon clones.

If you're afraid of missing out, taking the money you would have invested in the pre-order and buying bitcoin now is a decent hedge considering that difficulty will be sky high in September, which will make it much harder to mine BTC at that time.

To each their own, but I'll let others gamble and provide KncMiner with their development funding at 4-7k a pop and continue to load up on BTC in the meantime. If they deliver a good product on schedule, I'm sure they will produce more of them and the risk to future buyers will be much lower.

Four months is a long time in the bitcoin world, so there is risk of missing out on a better opportunity by being locked into a 4 month long pre-order that could turn out to be much longer (BFL cough cough)...

The Fact that Sam has always responded like a gentleman, instead of insulting me like BFL has.
