Aren't here some pros who actually know about that stuff?

'I noticed that the majority of all my and other questions from people are just ignored and no one replies to those at all....

Are there actually forums where I would actually get an answer to those questions and others?! Hardly anyone ever helped me on this forum...

I am not into the advantages of the Vega 56 card, but did I get it right that it can hash with an updated 64 BIOS that it can mine regulary 2000 Hash/s?
It seems that mining monero with the Vega 56 is much more profitable than anything else or do I get something wrong ?

I need to decide if I should add some 1070 cards for 480 Euro per piece or rx Vega 56 cards for 670 Euro per piece to my rig?? What are you guys suggesting?
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

The heat from the HBM2 is the problem. Try to run the Fans between 80-100% when  you have the referenz cooler. Otherwise 60% in other cards like Nitro+ cards vor red devil...

The fans are spinning at ~90% already (reference design)...

did you try a different miner already? Just for testing purposes?

I am not into the advantages of the Vega 56 card, but did I get it right that it can hash with an updated 64 BIOS that it can mine regulary 2000 Hash/s?
yes you are right . Be aware when you bios flash you will have higher power consumption for not that much hash gain.
It seems that mining monero with the Vega 56 is much more profitable than anything else or do I get something wrong ?
Monero = Cryptonight algo. Vegas are best for Cryptonight algo coins.

I need to decide if I should add some 1070 cards for 480 Euro per piece or rx Vega 56 cards for 670 Euro per piece to my rig?? What are you guys suggesting?
good luck, maybe experiment on whattomine with desired setups

Guys, could you please tell me why this miner is not recognizing my cards? It's just detecting the first one and it hashes a lot slower, than a different cryptonight miner. Can anyone tell me how to troubleshoot this issue?
And if you could also tell me what's -cclock for this algo on rx580 should be, that would be awesome Cheesy
Thanks

I don't mean to be harsh on you, but want to give you an insight.

The stuff you're asking about is very basic. It's been discussed extensively on the forums and the "pros" are tired of answering newbies that don't want to do their homework properly.

So, unless you can contribute something interesting or new, there's little chance that a "pro" will babysit you and hold your hand in. You need to put some effort into whatever you're doing.

On latest version, 0.9.0 I noticed an increase of the heat generated by the cards.

My fans were around 3400-3700rpm, while now they're more like 3700-4100rpm  on the same rig and same weather conditions.

Anyone noticed the same ?

The kernel for 'classic CryptoNight' did not change and is technical the same as in version 0.8.5  so a change in power consumption would be strange.

The CryptoNightV7 kernel is a little more complex but the additional instructions are still masked by the memory accesses and do have no real performance influence.

So if still running with classic CryptoNight the power consumption an therefore fan speed should be the same. For CryptoNight V7 a tiny increase would be explainable.

Me switched from 0.8 to 0.9, have watt-a-kill, same power consume : D

tested on vega 56, 64.

On a different note, does anyone know if there were blockchain drivers released for Sapphire Nitro Radeon RX480 after the August 2017 release? I can't seem to find any drivers post August 2017 and the August 2017 ones do not work, i used the DDU program and uninstalled the drivers, reinstalled the blockchain drivers, then added the patch too.... every time i do this process, the screen goes off and does not let me into normal mode, then i have to reboot into safe mode again, uninstall the drivers and come back out again! I am running windows 7, any idea what could be causing this?

I am running windows 7

Update windows 10 and use windows 10 blockchain drivers, or you could try the hacked robinhood drivers i think they were win 7 compatible.

Whoa, so there is no native support for Windows 7? I thought they would support windows 7 and windows 10. Let me look around for the robinhood drivers and see if they suit my requirement. Not sure if i wanna go down the route of reinstalling the OS to get some hash rate increase. Thanks for the lead! Smiley

I got an issue where the miner freezes and stays there until window is closed ...
what is funny is that the watt pulled from the wall does only decrese by around 20% of the max power ...

So a rig pulls around 1600 W ... 7 vega56 then freezes in a state where no more shares are hashed but pulls around 1300 W
still with out submitting any shares ...

My suggestion is to start downvolting first. I run my Vegas with 900/800 mV GPU/MEM (top clock values I use 1407/940) with target temp of 52 degrees. Some cards will do freezing as You described, so upping for 25mV GPU voltage and lowering MEM clock for steps of 5 will bring You to rock stable mining. And delete that -7 power target.

Can't speak to Win7, but under Win 10, the latest Adrenaline drivers give excellent results for RX 480/570/580.  General process is find and apply whatever memory strap improvement that matches the memory on your card, install latest AMD driver, immediately run amdpatcher.exe before restarting.  That avoids the Window crashing on startup issues with latest Adrenaline drivers.  *** Make sure you also enable "compute" mode in AMD Settings.

Anybody having mass rejection issues using the latest version of Cast XMR with Nicehash?

It seems be to isolated to the cryptonight v7 shares that it finds but apparently at some point today the number of those shares its finding has increased a ton.

I’m using Cast XMR within Awesome Miner and for some reason when I use the -algo switch it just kills the miner. Not sure what I’m doing wrong but I wound up having to revert back to the oldest version.

I was using -algo 0 just like I use the -G switch for all of my GPU.

Suddenly I can't mine Graft with my Vegas using Cast 0.9.0, it says rejected share - low difficulty.  Tried two different pools.  Is something broken?
