I am somewhat confused about this topic and decided to ask it here finally.
Can anyone please throw some light on this and evidently provide any confirmation of the matter that says we are going to get some BTG in our wallets if we had some Bitcoins with us on October 1st? Somebody told me that they got an "image" of the wallets containing bitcoins on the said date and those will be the only people to get Bitcoin Gold. I don't care too much about this but wish to clear it up to remove such confusion out of my mind.

You may not get it in your wallet but if you have your private key then you can download a compatible wallet and redeem the coin.

Many wallets may not support the Bitcoin gold. Will need to export private key from the wallet having
bitcoins and then use that private key to claim bitcoin gold  in BTG's official wallet or
another wallet supporting it.
