The next block coin halve is near, and due to the rapid distribution of Infinitecoin, people are asking the question how to maintain the IFC mining going. Some people proposed to increase the minimum transaction fee to 10 IFC (from 0.1 IFC now). Of course this applies only to the transaction that has a fee. Some transactions (small amount or not frequent) are free and they will remain the same way.

I think this is a good idea, at some point the transaction fee will become an important part of the mining. This applies to all coins, but with rapid distribution of IFC, it becomes an important issue to resolve. I am thinking to release an updated version soon (this week), to implement this feature. It will become effective starting from a fixed date such as September 1st. This will happen after two more halves (including the one coming in a few days). So the community will have enough to download/update or compile the new client.

Please post your opinions or comments, let me know whether you like this idea or not. I want to make sure most people (>50%) like it before I release the new version.  Smiley

I think this is an obvious step, in view of the volume of all infinitecoins.
Maybe, it would be interesting to make a dynamic charge of commission (10-100), depending on the volume of transactions (1000000-1000000000) e.g

The problem with introducing a minimum 10 IFC transaction fee is that it potentially devalues the coin in the long term. It's like saying 10IFC is will always be "not much".  I'd prefer to see a dynamic level of minimum commission based on a percentage of the average transaction in the blockchain's last "N" blocks.

I'm with treasureseeker on this one, I think at least let the rollover happen first, it is only the second one. Who knows, maybe the price will go up making it more worthwhile to mine... Then assess it after that...

Btw I do mine IFC so this is coming from my perspective. I will even continue to mine it after the halving... Long term though we do need to think of something and I have some ideas in that department. I just don't think we are at that stage yet.

Oh and fisheater did you have any luck with compiling the source?

WTG ! That statement was all I needed to see to justify dumping this bank ridden coin.

WARNING !! THE CREATOR OF project infinite THINKS ITS OK TO GIVE TRUST VOTES TO PEOPLE WHO RUN SCAM COIN GIVEAWAY THREADS.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=256236.80

You may try to brush it off or play stupid, but its easy to see the game being play here with this coin.

iDr414eHs2TNCAPmDQifhZ7AyhdJvL1Ln5

Thanks bud, great promotion!

Edit, have given you your trust feedback (first person I ever did that for)...

Selling trust ratings for  a few pennies of IFC is not cool.

Happy to have some coins and check out his website but I won't be helping set him up with cheap false trust for scams.
yes trust is for 2 way transactions not one way transactions

Then why exactly did it let me do it? Go talk to the site admin, not me! There is a comment section, nowhere on my trust rating did I say I put up any money! But the guy promised to send the coins and came through! Jesus christ! People can always READ the comments in the trust section and see what exactly happened, okay bud??? Next time I choose to do something, should I run it by you all first? LMAO
i was speaking to the OP, you are obviously free to give trust to whomever you wish

Well that is awful funny because you seem to commenting regarding mine and the other chaps comments as shown by the little sub thread above... But hey so glad to have your blessing there even if it contradicts your original comment. Lol

You should read ELiOt's comments again as both are valid.

Selling merit points IS SKETCHY (especially when done under the false pretences of a give-away) and those that choose to vote for the OP are free to do so.

Those that do sell or fake votes should be aware that this will cast them under a similar light.

This also a huge dis-service to Bitcointalk and their efforts to provide us with a viable rating system.

HT xD

I will ask you the same as the other chap, please show me where I sold a vote? I recieved the million BEFORE I gave him trust, so no vote was sold. Making up BS only serves to discredit you.

Edit: And just for your information I do not buy or sell anything on these boards and so quite frankly I couldnt give a damn what light people cast on me! Seems to me that the voting system on here is a waste of time anyway as I have not seen anyone with a trust rating... Also as I have sated before there is a comment section with the trust rating that people are free to read... The guy said he would send a million and a million he did send, as clearly stated in the comment. No BTC was risked by me and that too is clearly reflected on the trust I gave.
