Ethereum Price-Will it jump up after the BTC Fork?

Won't be surprised if that happens. We're often seeing in such events that traders are trying to profit by riding each wave (post and pre-fork) and that usually drives the prices of alts in the short term. But that's the problem in my opinion, their value increases usually short term and after a couple of days things are balanced again. Which mean traders are taking profit after a short jump which is what makes cryptocurrencies so volatile. In my opinion a good strategy would be to hold both ETH and BTC, as you can't really predict which one will increase when, unless there is something drastic happening that you're sure will influence the price, just keep both of them and see them appreciate in value over the longer term. Riding on waves is not something that can be done unless you have years of experience (mostly FX traders who've been doing this for decades can be succesful, but most newbie traders simply get destroyed).

It should rise, but I predict it wont be by much. Say five or ten percent max, then after a week or two of being pumped it will revert back to three hundred or below as has been the case for most of 2017. Until Ethereum finds value outside of ICO's and is properly adopted this will be the case.

I hope so, it is also nice if the value of Ethereum goes high as well as the bitcoin when the harfork happen. Because there are also a lot of users that gives investment in ethereum. And they also expecting to earn more after the hard fork this coming October 25th.

You can see from the previous history of the ethereum chart at the middle of the August due to the bitcoin cash hardfork and ethereum already touched its bottom around $200 but this time looks ethereum more stronger than before. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ethereum/
Tomorrow the hardfork will be happening and the price of ether still stay above $270 which it can be determined as the strong position to welcome the bitcoin gold as fast as possible.

There would be no fix answer on this one since all of people do really have different altcoin holdings which they would definitely go back once they do secure out their free coins an exchange it to bitcoin.For eth i cant say too much since this fork event doesnt a significant thing that will affect its price majorly on ETH.
Lets wait patiently on the possible things that would happen after the fork.

I for one would love to see my ethereum climb in value! I am not sure how sharp of a rise we will see in the near future, coin seems more of a steady grower! I would be happy to see it continue on the path its going down and gradually rise in value! I plan on holding this coin long term for sure.

I am surprise that after a little recovery of ethereum price, the day before yesterday the price has fall back bellow $290 today. I don't think that ethereum is going to rise in price  This time around as it did not happen after the hardfork in August but we may experience a little upward rise maybe close to $400. I think coins is going to flows back to some altcoins like litecoin, USDT, Wave and stratis. Eth will recover but it might not get good pump like the foregoing coins. Bitcoin core is also a cryptocurrency to watch as most big investors focus there attention on it and most of them don't even care what there stand for.

In my opinion ethereum price can not jump too high in this year because it is alrady jump very high from january price. It will jump not after the bitcoin fork but after next ethereum upgrade in 2018.it will goes between $250-320 until the end of this year. And it is rally healthy growth.

After a few days from the fork BTC holders will dump BTC and buy alt coins. So, all of them, including Ethereum, will sky rocket. It an economic cycle if you look at it with te right perspective.

Yes i think it will jump up after the Bitcoin Fork. And i think other altcoins will follow, just like Litecoin, Dash and Ripple

i am sure that ethereum price will jump up but i don't know will it jump after the btc fork or before the fork but if i see in the bittrex, there is a sign for ethereum to get increase and there are many order in big amount in the order buy and sell and its waiting to be filled. so if we want to sell our ethereum, then we can wait or at least we can place our order sell so we don't missed the high price. ethereum itself have a good chance to increase back like before but of course it will depend on how much btc price and if the price is stable at one range price then ethereum can reach the high price.

Ethereum has a direct correlation with the moves around the Globe of Vitalik Buterin. He has been travelling from Singapore and with his lectures and meetings - the price shift in ETH happens IMHO.

Obviously, I did not expect any coin not to jump up after the fork since that is usually the normal trend as we are experiencing it now. However, for how long they will keep staying up is what I am not sure of before the next upcoming fork. I guess we will just have to see how it all turns out. Right now, ETH is not really giving me that expected push that I want, but patience might just make it worthwhile.

It is truly difficult to know how fast it would jump. Even the fact that it has jumped a little is as a result of all the altcoins recovering, even though during all these time, it has been trying to fair pretty well. However, it doesn't seem to want to get past $320 - $340 at the moment and I really hope it does before the next fork.
