hello just 2 days back
I sold around 17 BTC for 4968$ on bittrex
and bitcoin price got pumped recently
should i wait for price drop or should i buy at current price ?
You will be able to buy it back below what you sold. Just wait on it. Next time don't sell your entire stash, sell a bit and if the price goes down buy it back. If the price goes up, it does not matter since you hold more anyways. Usually the price will go down a bit every once a while. Wait for a DEAL to come along and then buy back. thanks good advice but i don't think it will go below 5000$ again I wouldn't count on it. People also thought bitcoin wouldn't go under a 1000 no more after it finally reached 1000. We will see a correction imo.

I don't get why you would ever sell at these prices. especially sell so much bitcoin at these prices, unless you really needed the money. Bitcoin is sooooo cheap right now. Absolute minimum I would ever sell is $50k

The last peak was around $4900, so people think it will drop after it reaches that value again.

People don't look at things from your perspective. I am exactly like you -- I am not at all interested to sell any of my coins, other than for trading purposes. As we speak, I haven't sold anything yet, but might do so at the time the market breaks through the $6000 level today or tomorrow. I expect a small correction of roughly 10% to happen, and then I'll quickly re-enter the market. I have a separate stash of coins for trading purposes, and long term holding purposes. It allows me to benefit from the short term volatility, but also from the massively increased price.

Happed to me in the past, you make a small fuck up and you end up with 12k less... As time goes on, risk will increase. In the big picture, I'd say it is not too horrible as a loss but Ive learnt 2 things: - Never sell (bitcoin is not like the stock market... This make double the pressure on the buying side due to the small number of bc available) - Buy the dip - Use play money for experiments, if you make big gains, you can buy more bcs, if you lose, you wont be sad
So far this served me well... Once I will become a trading star with my play money maybe I'll increase the stake, but well, that is just what I think. Good luck with the recovery (eth might aim at 400 soon)

For me i think its not worth selling bitcoins, they are too hard to acquire now,
you probably need over 1,500 to make one so I would value them not less than 2k per coin.
and fiat money imo is becoming less attractive to hold on to as it's only going in one direction.
and btc is going in the other, so you are now going with the wrong flow.
i could be wrong... but anyhow i'd feel worse if i sold all of them and the price went up by a lot and then you have to start over.
You could get lucky and the price may dip a little or maybe after the forks it will... its hard to say!

Always sell small amounts over time if it is not a matter of live and death. If you had to sell 17 bitcoins, then would be better spread your sells over 2 months at least. Or you risk missing a bull run and create a thread like this.
Also never sell everything unless you'll die if you don't

There is no logic in buying back the coins when the price went a really long way from the price you sold and i am not sure why you made that decision to offload all the coins when there is fork coming up which could give you equal amount of coins if there is a split and there are many air drops coming the following month which could give you a sizable amount of increase in your total asset,i believe that the recent rally is simply because people are trying to accumulate bitcoin before the fork so that they could multiply their assets.

You can't do anything now but to wait instead of buying at higher price. Don't worry about it as there will be the time that the price of bitcoin will go down eventually after the quick pump. What's even the reason why you have sold that 17 bitcoin? You've got $84,000 and that's barely a lot of money, if I were you I won't be gambling at the current price of bitcoin. I know there will be some proper correction maybe if it will be back at $5,000 go buy some.

That said do as I say not as I do - buy them back and forget about btc or trading until 2020. You shouldn't give 2 fucks about a $600 difference per coin by that time.

Do as you say or do whatever you want and do whatever you think which is right. If you think that he shouldn't give that thing about the $600 difference then it's up to him. I was curious why he really have to sold all of those 17 bitcoin if he's in need of cash he can just sell 10% of it and use the cash and just do just like what you say and hold it until 2020.

Which will make him confused, for there are so many different advice of course he can choose the best but it's hard to identify.

The truth is you have made a little bit of mistake already and correcting that now is obviously close to just gambling what the results might end up being. Assume there is nothing more you can do about it and I am pretty sure you didn’t sell at the same amount you bought initially. If you can just buy some now and watch out what the turn of event would be like after the 2 forks, then it might be a good option. However, no one knows what can happen next, you might be waiting for a huge correction and then see the bullish trend to keep going on that any correction might not even get to the point you sold it.

Growth will slow down in next period and after fork I think we will see some dump below 5 000. So wait and do not give in FOMO.

He has already sold out the bitcoins he has now speculation can't do anything right. Why you expecting this growth will downfall to low again. I am really worry to stop bumping the current price movement. Hardfork may takes us to sky rocket value also we cannot say we can see dump only in that time. Like last time this time also price value increase to peak value again. Do buying still because you can get the profit still with this amount hitting in the price index.

Well, you are one of those who are enthusiast sellers, Once the value rises more than normal, you guys start selling BTC! If you had sold them today, you could have got more $1000 or almost that! Now you should wait for the net dip, or buy portions of BTC, because the value of BTC is getting higher and higher!
