Can I ask why people are not honest. As in, why is it that people don't keep to their words even when they can do so? Can't I just do business with someone without signing papers and get lawyers and witnesses and still keep to my words? Can't we get trustworthy people anymore?

Well i think why people are not honest because they are hiding for something , they wanted to protect someone that’s why they can’t tell it . Or maybe , they doing it because they wanted to get something that might really need them . There’s a lot of reason why people are not honest .

This is happening too much in developing countries where system is not good as currently in western countries and most of groups and parties doing this for personal success on any cost and hurting all communities with injustice and personal like dislike its need very long time for change

well i think people are not honest because they are something that they dont want to open, and theres a lot of reason why people are honest and also maybe they dont want that person to be hurt.

Everyone cant afford honesty. One needs to be ethical, authentic and truthful for being honest.
Authenticity in your way of being. Like when it comes to relationships honesty is a sign of wholeness, confidence and self-love.

I think of honesty as a synonym for trust and intimacy.

There are many types of people in this world but all peoples mind is not same. Somebody wants to pass their life simply and some wants to be rich and pass the life with high passion. Basically when people wants to earn money in a short time then they doesn’t think about its result and selects any dishonest way.

Maybe because they are afraid of the possible consequence of telling the thruth. They are afraid to be judge by others that is why they tell lies.

or maybe people are telling lies because the truth will hurt the one who is asking it. but, what does it really matter? hurting them with the truth or making them happy with your lies?

indeed for now it is very difficult to gain the confidence of a person, even with the honesty that we give people do not believe 100% sometimes with the lies of people easy to believe. if you are a very honest person keep it because someday will get lucky, you have to believe with this.

Actualy I think not being honest in this world is common to the world , we will never can change that because that is who we are, we do that because we dont want people know the true to protect ourself or themselves.We cannot just generalize that all people are not honest. In fact, we cannot just base dishonesty for not telling the truth without knowing if it is reasonable or not. Sometimes, there are certain situations where we need to lie for the greater good, or as we call it white lies. We need to renew our standards up to how we consider someone as a liar. People might learn to lie or be dishonest for several reasons. Fear of judgement, shame, guilt, selfishness or lack of trust into something are some of the possibilities. Lack of respect or fear are also other possible reasons.people are greedy, the want to earn money. they not see the the way of earn to money are good or not but only to earn money, due to his greediness they not to differentiate in honesty or dishonesty. so due to it people are not honest.this is the main point i think...

Well people are not honest because they have personal interest and motive and in order to get it they need to be dishonest or anything whatever it required.

Why people not honest? Some people are not honest because of their motive to cheat people and betray...but those people wasnt success their motive and intension because they are doing bad things,some people are not honest because they have own reason why they should do that and this why they must lie and not to be honest.

Honesty is very difficult to instill in us. Honesty must be grown since a child. A businessman or office workers are usually easy to forget because of busy. This is definitely not innate everything depends on upbringing. And it's not that someone is specifically taught to lie, for example. Not at all people are born with different temperaments. Everyone needs their own approach, sanguine or melancholic can not be brought up the same way as a choleric.
