My Bittrex account has been disabled.

In case Bittrex hijacked your crypto and allowed deposit and didn't allow withdrawal, requesting ID verification you can:
 - File complaint to Malta Financial Regulator - https://www.mfsa.com.mt
 - Request your account to be removed from Bittrex - they have to do that to be compliant with GDPR - if not file complaint to https://idpc.org.mt/en/Pages/gdpr.aspx
 - If you are EU citizen you can file compliant further to EU Authorities - https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/law-topic/data-protection/reform/rights-citizens/redress/what-should-i-do-if-i-think-my-personal-data-protection-rights-havent-been-respected_en

Basically, when I decided to go all those routes all of a sudden Bittrex enabled my account for 7 days after which account will be removed, so they will be compliant with GDPR (as I requested account and personal data removal from their systems).

It did not require any ID verification, which I was hesitant to complete due to nature of Bittrex's actions with disabling account without any reason.

Hope that helps some of you to get funds back from this dishonest crowd.
Also, keep in mind one more thing... Bittrex Data Privacy Controller registered officially on Malta is US citizen. That means it might be difficult to draw personal consequences in case they will do something with personal data they collecting.

PS. Keep in mind that they changed rules of account after account was created. They should make awareness campaign and allow people ot withdraw funds, if they are not happy with new terms & conditions they created. That was not the case with Bittrex. They just start disabling withdrawals.

 I accidentally deleted Google Authenticator for Bittrex and was unable log in to my account. Then I went through several requirements (proof of identity,  Recent IP addresses I had used to log into account, Estimated account balance and estimated coin balances) to remove my two-factor authentication and this was all without success  and in the end I was exhausted and gave up. But after some time I checked just for fun and my two-factor was removed, and I got my coins back.

Wow, what a great advertisement for Bittrex then, yes? I can imagine now if I lost my account at Poloniex for example, I will just give up. They never replied me before why would they now?

Bittrex has very good customer service and if they actually helped you to recover your lost account like this, I have to say, salutes. Good to hear there are still honest operators in the space.

Sometimes I think that they must be very alert against scammers and clever hackers. For instance when somebody gets wrongly granted behalf of Bittrex to access to the some account and hacker empties account and then appears real owner and his account is empty... But confronting with stone wall is nevertheless frustrating, when you are in problems.

Someone already file a lawsuit against Bittrex for holding his funds. Funny this is according to the New Yorker, she was asked to sign a so,ewhat like a waiver not to sue Bittrex. If the claim is true about the waiver then maybe Bittrex did something wrong that a lawsuit can be filed against them. Clauses like that seem absolutely stupid to me. What if every service you've ever used included that? "You can't sue us for wrongdoing no matter what happens".

Such an easy way to undo yourself from all responsibilities. Waivers like these seem extremely unlawful to me, especially when we are talking about exchanges that's trying to receive licenses from the US government. I really doubt it holds up in court.

In many cases you can sue even if you SIGNED a waiver, let alone if the waiver was included somewhere in the TOS.


IANAL but i'd be interested to see if bittrex can actually legally enforce such clauses.
