Making more money from Alts than major coins.

Hi Guys,

New member here. I am just curious who sticks more to alt coins than the major coins? I own a few Ethereum ans a few different alts and catching a good new alt with good team before a big pump, roadmap etc seems to be bringing me in the most profit although i know they  more volatile.

What are your opinions? And hello everyone btw!

Personally I haven't been trading any coins beside BTC and LTC. Those were always my favourite ones. I used to own a few others, but mostly got them from airdrops like lumens, bytes, BCC. Most of my profits came from BTC of course, but that's because I had it the longest. I missed half of the giant LTC segwit pump, which I regret, but life goes on

HODLing the major cryptos is the safe play (BTC/ETH/LTC, etc...)

But, if you pick the right alts, they have much higher upside (much higher chance of bagholding)

I try and do both, but definitely weight my portfolio over to the big guys 80/20

Hold ETHERIUM and whatever you own till the fork or maybe till the end of the winter. It looks pretty much like a bullish market at the time, which means that everything is growing. But any ICO is overrated and as a result overvalued,which will frease your money for another couple of month at least and than are you sure that the market will stay as bullish as it is at the very moment? Personally I have some doubts... Though I can be wrong and you are the only decision maker and risk taker at this time

You right, because it is already stayed in the market for long time and you can assure that it will prived you a good market value. But there is nothing wrong in trying for another that is new in the market, maybe is just like the old ones that it will hit in the market also.

I were investing in some altcoins, if you are try to buying the altcoin and you must do a proper research about them all, in my experience that altcoin can give you the easy money rather than major tokens.
With only some rumour and that was already enough to pump the price a lot.

In the short term, altcoin has always been profitable but dangerous. Because when altcoin fall in price, it usually fall very hard. But the risk is high for alt so also is the reward!

There is a lot of profit to be made with ALT's. You have to complete a good reseach on each of them first however.

I agree with the statement that large and well-known altcoyins, such as the etherium, litecoin, monero, ripple and others safer, but bring less profit. At the same time, if it is right and good to choose a little-known coin, then with it there is more risk, however, especially in the short term, it can bring profits much more than the well-known ones.

The major coins like BTC, ETH, LTC have more potential to rise than the minor ones. They have greater stability than others and that is the reason why people invest in them. If at all there is a decrease in their price people keep buying them and hence it's price increases again. But that is not the case with the minor coins because they don't have much stability and once dropped in value makes a panic in the market. So people panic sell them most of the times. Also, there are a few minor coins which makes heavy profits too but then there is equal amount of risk at the same time.
So most people prefer major coins over minor ones.

that is the strategy that good traders who are more familiar with altcoin market use. they invest in coins that are more active, that is why money moves around so much in this market. they go in an out of "hot" altcoins and make the profit in short term while they are getting pumped.

others who are not familiar with the market, stick to one coin, and mostly buy that one coin when it is in a bubble and then keep holding it tight and hope that it "some day" recovers and that day usually never comes!

You right, because it is already stayed in the market for long time and you can assure that it will prived you a good market value. But there is nothing wrong in trying for another that is new in the market, maybe is just like the old ones that it will hit in the market also.

It is possible that you can make more money from altcoins then some major coins if you find some altcoins after proper study and future project of that altcoin. XRP is a very good future coin as they have a very good low fee banking program and they have already tied up with many global banks.

both of them . major is more safe but if you didnt bought from the past you will not earn a lot . it depends  from the amount you would like to invest  on the other hand choosing a good altcoin you will earn lot with a small investment.

Alts are one of the best ways to both make and lose money. If you research on alts and make sure that it'll be viable for the forseeable future, you're set to go. But right now, a lot of people are losing money in alts due to the btc fork. So, yeah, all things considered, they're a good way to make money once you make sure that its technicals are strong.

I'm gonna have to go with major coins over alt. Not saying the profits from Alr coins are bad, but you have a better chance investing in BTC or ETH in the long-term than any other alt coin. In the short term, with alt coins you can definetly see some good results but it isn't as safe as the major coins. It takes some skills and knowledge to invest in less know coins and make some profits in the long term.

Hello there, your idea looks pretty much same to mine. I'm also maniac with the alts and holding some based on the studies done within roadmap. That's practical approach to know how the ICO might outperform in the ear future leading to good profits. Ethereum is always good, although the growth seem to be very slow it should get pumped after the fork happens. But that would be just one hike an there has to be more than that to get better profits. For other alts mostly try to get hands on the top ten alts as there market cap is such that they will never die. :-)

I honestly don't think that there is a single person who has come into alts without first going into Bitcoin. If I look at the majority of my trades now, yes, they are all in alts, but then they are also all strictly in BTC pairs, not even USDT. Every now and then yes, an ETH trade and even a DOGE pair trade though I've stopped looking at those type of coins as they can be so deceptively bad value.

Whatever you're making in alts, be glad for BTC.

I agree with you, i personal traded altcoins ethereum, litecoin, ripple, nem, ethereum classic, miota, bitcoin cash and any other the altcoins that has up trend in the price, they will gives me good profit. Some profit from trading altcoins be invested into icos token, it will gives me extra profit, of course with calculating the risk losing money in icos token due to many scam icos projects out there and never invested into the icos with amount of money can not be ready to losing them.

There's a big profit in altcoins but of course there   is a bigger risk involved. All you need is to be updated with the altcoins that you buy just like the major coins you hold.

If you do not have a lot of money then you can really start investing in cheaper coins, but you need to look at their chances of growing in value so as to profit the profits rather than lead to a loss of funds.

Promising altcoins and ICO can make more money but it is more risky than the major coins. If you diversify your portfolio, it is fine to invest 10 to 20%.

I hold only alt coins... its more profitable to make a good long research, and to make some mistakes, until you find few promising coins, and to invest in all of them
a big chance that coins will move x10 - x30 a lot faster then ethereum or bitcoin...
and i am not day trading, just research invest and wait
i am opened to new coins also , choosing the ones that make me feel 100% sure about the investment
most of the ICO's dont make me that feeling

What major coins are you talking about? The major coin I knew is only bitcoin. In which I prefer many people are profiting more. But in that we should buy that coin at its lowest price, while dumping so hard. But know since we are late in buying bitcoins at low price. We are to look for alternative coins to put our investment on. There is big pump on eth, it is just a matter of days.

As you op i had invested into some altcoins that are about to explode, even knowing there are already good and stable coins around, new ltcoins are coming with amazing projections as well potencial, litecoin and older altcoins are more stable but nowadays the new altcoins are where there is the big opportunities.

Nowdays the market is very unstable, It much more safer to have btc, eth etc, then alts. But you can buy alts if you think that it is bottom. (im not sure about it)
