yes but the price in/decrease of bitcoin will often result of how the investment based on fiat is affected, the supply of bitcoin is capped and sometimes unable to distribute the bitcoins equivalent to the same amount of fiat.

As there is more demand than there is offer the price will go up till one bitcoin (or a smaller part) is sold and the balance is set again with more fiat needed. This happens every second everywhere around the world.

Both the number of coins and the value of all fiat currency the world are meaningless.
The market will adjust the value even if we have 100 or 1 trillion coins.

You make a valid point. There is no guarantee that we will earn a profit from our investment in the future. The value of bitcoin may fall in the future which I feel is unlikely, but is totally possible. Invest only what you are willing to lose.
