I’m a newbie. I bought 6 riser cables, none of them seem to work when plug into a working gtx 1070 graphic card. When I plug the graphic card without a riser, it works.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

You need to check the correctness of connection in the first place. Then you need to check the BIOS of your motherboard. Maybe you disabled the use of additional slots or you need to choose the mode of operation. There are no miracles should work. Try to connect the riser to the slot where your GPU is running.

During the greatest demand for risers, many defective risers appeared, maybe you're out of luck. If you are of course using them correctly

If possible kindly post pictures on how you do the connection, it is much easier for us to know if its properly connected or not, a picture from PSU to risers and GPU then Risers to Motherboard.

The thing is if I plug one graphic card into a motherboard on the same slot, it works, but then when I use the risers, the graphic card doesn’t even start running.

In this case, the risers are apparently defective. Because the wrong connection usually burns the motherboard or gpu

No, wrong connections includes incomplete connections setups, and won't burn GPU's or main board or whatsoever, just to ensure everything is connected properly before judging a faulty riser, all 6 risers aren't working so probably something is missing on the setup.

What kind of riser is it ? Which color ?

Is it a molex riser ? SATA riser ? PCI Express riser ? Do you use adaptors ?

I suggest you read this : https://forum.ethereum.org/discussion/9495/the-correct-way-of-powering-the-risers-for-the-470-480

It seems impossible to me that your 6 risers would be defective... Otherwise the website you bought it on is a scam
