By this graph the big miner in Japan seen last week is gone:

http://blockchain.info/nodes-globe?series=topBlockRelay

But now we see new miners in Shanghai, and that island is Taiwan(where chips are made)(https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=228677.0)

Who is that huge orange spike in Germany?  Huh

I did find it funny! That's not to say it isn't weird.

Also I can't get webGL but isn't that just a node tinus42? So it may not be mining it might just be a really well connected node in a data centre or something. I could be wrong.

Lurking since 2011...

There are lots of major players moving into Bitcoin mining with serious money and serious equipment. Many industry leaders from finance to computer science.

I just read this news of a Private Equity firm investing $200 million into Bitcoin mining. Here is the full story:
http://www.efinancialnews.com/story/2013-08-05/bitcoin-gold-rush-heats-up-with-private-equity-deal

Bitcoin mining is about to get much more competitive over the next few years.

Are you retarded? I mean I could understand converting it to Norweigian Krone or Singaporian dollars, maybe even gold or other "real" currency, BUT USD? LEWL, keep your fancy toilet paper to yourself.

Investor Joe Lewis isn’t investing in a bitcoin venture called Avalon and doesn’t lead a Zurich-based private-equity fund called the Phoenix Fund. An article on the supposed investment was inaccurately published and has been removed.

So much chaff, so little wheat.
