hi guys, first time ive seen this - my screen on the PC when browsing the web seems to flicker a bit (whilst moving the mouse) - even when the PC isn't mining (HD 5870) but it only seems to be affected in browsers - when gaming it seems fine - could it be a dodgy driver combo or is it likely that my GFX card has been 'damaged' by mining - this card hasnt been over clocked for scrypt mining although i have noticed it was running hot today (85 degrees C) - it did a bit of bitcoin mining a while back but its only today that its playing up.

I think its a firefox/vid driver issue.

On 13.4 driver with my 7950 i get black squares in firefox. Same driver but using a 6950 i get no squares. I read on another forum that its the driver and firefox not playing well. Try different versions of the video cards driver.

try:
disable DWM (uxsms service)
disable browser hardware acceleration
disable flash player hardware acceleration
disable visual effects
restart computer

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

You have to lower the intensity one notch on the card that is powering your OS.  Or remove the "shaders" tag and just use thread concurrency which is better.  You may of course also need to raise the voltage.

For me dropping back to 12.6 drivers and using thread concurrency instead of shaders I'm now able to run full intensity on all cards and do things in the OS without artifacts or probs.  The hashrate is also faster and full speed on every card.

i'm planning on rebuilding the OS soon anyway - open air case coming soon.

I'm looking at going back to mining BTC as my office gets too hot mining scrypt atm.

Need LTC/FTC value to increase so i can afford to run the A/C Wink

The card may be slightly damaged from the mining, one of my hd5870s has artifact problems at idle clocks from 2 years of mining, it stil plays games and mines perfectly but I get glitches and colored pixels on the desktop.

Im using the following cgminer command:

c:\tools\cgminer3\cgminer.exe --scrypt -o [pool] -u [username] -p [password] --thread-concurrency 6144 -g 1 -w 256  -I 13,13

first card is my HD5850, second card is my HD5850 - i will be adding in my HD 6850 soon and converting to an open air case using this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lacewing-Tier-Mini-PVC-Greenhouse/dp/B008J26F9G

the PVC is long gone and the botton shelf got broken.

I'm building a custom motherboard mount and I have 3 powered PCI-e x16 extenders and 2 220mm InWin case fans that i will use to blow into the front with the cards pointing out the back.

the artifacts go as soon as i disable my second monitor so i assume that something is a little damaged.
